subject to the compliance with those documents, and all applicable statutes, ordinances, regulations, policies and procedures.
2. This permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must be made in writing and
received prior to the date of expiration. An extension of no more than 180 days made be granted at the discretion of the Chief Building
Official and may be subject to a fee equal to one-half of the original pennit fee.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit may be required to be obtained. Issuance of a new permit shall be subject to the standard
requirements, fees and procedures for approval of any new permit. Re -issuance or extension of expired permits is at the sole discretion of
the Chief Building Official and is not guaranteed.
4. No work of any manner shall be performed that shall results in a change of the natural flow of water without prior and specific approval.

The project plans were reviewed for compliance with the following codes and standards:
2012 International Residential Code (IRC); 2012 International Building Code (IBC); 2014 National
Electrical Code (NEC) 2012 International Fire Code (IFC) and the 2012 International Plumbing Code U
(IPC) : " �11
a. "The roof access point requiring a ladder shall not be located over a window, door or located where _aw0
it conflicts with overhead obstructions such as tree limbs, wires or signs." IFC 605.11.3.1 !►��
b. "An OSHA approved ladder shall be provided and secured to the structure at the approved roof
access point per note above with a OSHA approved device during all inspections"
c. "Applications for a photovoltaic system proposing a partial or complete re -roof of the existing roof
shall first obtain a separate building permit for such work from the Building Division by a licensed
contractor and shall pass a final inspection prior to installation of the photovoltaic mounting and/or
rail system.

d. "Direct -Current Photovoltaic Source and Direct -Current Output Circuits on or inside a building shall
be contained in a metal raceway. The wiring methods shall comply with the additional installation
requirements of NEC 690.31 (G)(1) through (4)"
e. "Where a UFER cannot be verified or is not present one supplementary ground electrode shall be
installed and embedded a minimum of 8 feet into the ground and fitted with a listed clamping
device."
f. "Existing roof and plumbing vents shall not be obstructed by array installation. Plumbing vents are
required to be re-routed through attic space and terminate a minimum of 6 inches above the roof
line." Plumbing vents shall terminate to the open air (2012 IPC, Sec. 904.3)
Markings, Labels and Wiring Signs
2. The format of all markings, labels and wiring signs including letter and background colors, letter
height and capitalization, etc. shall be in compliance with ANSI Z535.4-2011 section 7 and safety
colors of ANSI 535.1 safety colors as follows:
a. DANGER: safety white letters on a safety red background
b. WARNING: safety white letters on a safety orange background.
c. CAUTION: safety black letters on a safety yellow background.
d. NOTICE: italicized safety white letters on a safety blue background.
e. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS or similar words: safety white letters on a safety green
background.
3. "All placards shall be weather resistant permanently etched placards. Handwritten signs will
not be acceptable"

Ajobsite survey of the existing framing system of the address indicated above was performed by a site survey team from Tesla. Structural
evaluation was based on site observations and the design criteria listed above.
Based on this evaluation, I certify that the alteration to the existing structure by installation of the PV system meets the requirements of the
applicable existing building and/or new building provisions adopted/referenced above.
Additionally, I certify that the PV module assembly including all standoffs supporting it have been reviewed to be in accordance with the
manufacturer's specifications and to meet and/or exceed all requirements set forth by the referenced codes for loading.
The PV assembly hardware specifications are contained in the plans/docs submitted for approval.

REGARDING ROOF VENTILATION: Roof ventilation shall comply with IBC Sec. 1203.2 or IRC Sec.
R806. The installation of ridge venting requires the installation or existence of soffit
venting. For calculation purposes, one hat or turtle vent equal to one-half of one square
foot of opening.
Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof
covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.
