To Whom It May Concern,
A jobsite observation of the condition of the existing framing system was performed by an audit team of Blue Raven Solar as a
request from Domus Structural Engineering. All review is based on these observations and the design criteria listed below and
only deemed valid if provided information is true and accurate.
On the above referenced project, the roof structural framing has been reviewed for additional loading due to the installation of
the solar PV addition to the roof. The structural review only applies to the section of the roof that is directly supporting the solar
PV system and its supporting elements. The observed roof framing is described below. If field conditions differ, contractor to
notify engineer prior to starting construction.
The roof structure of (MPI) consists of rolled composition on roof plywood that is supported by 2x8 rafters @ 24"o.c. with
ceiling joists acting as rafter ties. The rafters have a max projected horizontal span of 12'-6", with a slope of 8 degrees. The
rafters are connected at the ridge to a and are supported at the eave by a load bearing wall.
The roof structure of (MP3) consists of rolled composition on roof plywood that is supported by nominal 2x6 rafters @ 24"o.c.
with ceiling joists acting as rafter ties. The rafters have a max projected horizontal span of 9'-6", with a slope of 23 degrees. The
rafters are connected at the ridge to a ridge board and are supported at the eave by a load bearing wall.
The spacing of the solar standoffs should be kept at 48" o.c. for landscape and 48" o.c. for portrait orientation, with a staggered
pattern to ensure proper distribution of loads.
The scope of this report is strictly limited to an evaluation of the fastener a ac en un erlying framin dsupporting
structure only. The attachment's to the existing structure are required to i ggered pattern to a sur/e/ proper distribution
of loading. All panels, racking and hardware shall be installed per manufacturer eci in @cified design
limitations. All waterproofing shall be provided by the manufacturer. Domus Stru mes no responsibility for
misuse or improper installation of the solar PV panels or racking.
Note: Seismic check is not required since Ss<.4g and Seismic Design Category (SDC) < B

5. MODULE SOURCE CIRCUITS SHALL BE GROUNDED IN ACCORDANCE TO [NEC
690.42].
6. THE GROUNDING CONNECTION TO A MODULE SHALL BE ARRANGED SUCH THAT
THE REMOVAL OF A MODULE DOES NOT INTERRUPT A GROUNDED CONDUCTOR
TO ANOTHER MODULE.
7. EACH MODULE WILL BE GROUNDED USING THE SUPPLIED CONNECTIONS POINTS
IDENTIFIED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.

REGARDING ROOF VENTILATION: Roof ventilation shall comply with IBC Sec. 1203.2 or IRC Sec.
R806. The installation of ridge venting requires the installation or existence of soffit
venting. For calculation purposes, one hat or turtle vent equal to one-half of one square
foot of opening.
Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof
covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.

contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process

the homewoner's best interest in pursuit of roof replacement or repair due to storm
damage. This contract does not obligate the homeowner or Beall's Roofing until the
claim is approved by the Insurance Company. Upon approval of claim, Beall's Roof-
ing will complete specified work at a price agreeable to the Insurance Company and
Beall's Roofing whetherthe price is higher or lowerthan our written agreed price. The

ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS
1. All proposals subject to approval by Beall's Roofing LLC.
2. Price of contract is valid for 30 days based on monthly material price increases.
3. The company reserves the right to perform the specified repairs/replacements in accordance
with the generally accepted roofing and construction guidelines adhering to local codes at the
time.
4. All excess materials remain property of Beall's Roofing LLC.
5. Homeowner is responsible for Homeowners Association approval of roofing products and
colors.
6. Past due accounts are defined when all work is completed by Beall's Roofing LLC as defined
by this contract. Insurance claim has been completed by release of final check and 30 days has
passed, earn interest at 10% per annum (per month) and in addition if Beall's Roofing LLC is
required to turn the matter to an attorney for collection, the homeowner also agrees to pay all
costs incurred including reasonable attorney fees.
7. Should defaults be made in payments of this contract. Beall's Roofing LLC reserves the right to
place a mechanic's lien on the contract property.
8. The company shall not be liable for failure of performance due to labor controversies, strike,.
fire, hail, weather, liability to obtain material from usual sources, or any other circumstances
beyond the control of the company weather of similar or dissimilar nature.
9. The company is not responsible for any leaks or water damage below the roof line including
excessive wind, ice, or hail during the warranty.
10. Should default be made in payment, a mechanic's lien will be placed upon the property.
11. The company will not be held responsible for slight scratching or denting of gutters, oil droplets
in the driveway, cracked concrete, or damage to plants or trees. Furthermore. the company will
not be held responsible for exterior damages such as broken or fallen crown molding, or stucco.

such as falling dust or debris as a result or re -roofing cracked plaster, sheet rock or nail pops.
12. If material has to be reordered or restocked because of a cancellation by the customer, there will
be a restocking fee equal to twenty percent (20%) of the contract price.
13. Replacement or repair of the deteriorated decking/fascia boards, swamp coolers, ventilators,
chimneys, counter flashing or any other work completed for homeowner not stated in the
contract, are not included and will be charged as an extra on a time and material basis.
14. Beall's Roofing LLC reserves the right first (1) and second (2) right to correction or repairs
with ample time for correction. Beall's Roofing LLC will not be responsible financially if
homeowner calls a private contractor.
15. Payment schedule as follows unless other arrangements are made in writing: Deductible owed
at the time this contract is signed. First insurance check due at the time materials are delivered.
Second insurance check paid within 30 days of issuance from insurance company.
16. Homeowner has the right to rescind this contract and receive full refund of any monies paid to
Beall's Roofing LLC within 72 hours of entering this agreement. If homeowner chooses to
rescind this agreement after the 72 hour period, the homeowner is obligated to pay Beall's
Roofing $150/hour for time invested into the planning of the contracted construction project.
17. If homeowner chooses to use money paid by the insurance company. Beall's Roofing LLC
cannot pay, waive. rebate or promise to pay, waive or rebate all or part of any deductible
applicable to the claim.
