On 071002, I went to the Cat Cradle Cattery at 4365 Kipling St. I met a female inside. I advised her I needed to
speak with Paula Kanios. The female advised that's me. I gave her a Notice and Order of Demolish from the City of
Wheat Ridge, date 071 002. She then said,"Oh no, not again." I then left and placed a sign (Same notice) in the fence
that was surrounding a burned building.

The R11 was requested to respond to 4306 Kipling 51. on a structure lire at this location. The building is located on the
West side of Kipling 51. in a vacant field. The building is a portable structure that has been at the site from possibly the
late 1970's. The building has been vacant for a number of years. A history of the site indicates that the first fire occurred
on December 25, 2000. The cause of the fire was Incendiary. The fire caused heavy fire damage as well as smoke and
heat damage. The fire of July 14,2001 was confined to the West interior wall of the structure by the West door and the
circuit breaker panel. Fire fighter Hyatt was on the interior hose line and slated that the fire was on the West 'Nail by the
West door opening and circuit breaker panel on the upper wall section. next to the roof in approximately a two fool
square area. The odor of a possible accelerant was present on the inside of the building.. An ACT 8800 Combustible
Gas Detector was taken over the area of the wall, framing and fioor and also the exterior of the stn./cture. The unit did
not activate.
The East side openings ftlclng Kipfing Sl. were still secured with plywood when fire suppression personnel arrived. The
east door plywood was removed by fire suppression personnel.
The West side of the building has a door opening that is covered with plywood but can be accessed from the exterior.
This side of the building faces a field and the Mend E Engineering Bldg and is not well lighted. All accidental causes
have been eliminated. The building is unoccupied. The electrical power is disconnected from the building. No gas
natural or propane is connected to the building. At the time of the fire there was no thunderstorm activity in the erea.
No information was obtained on persons at the site prior to the fire.
Photos Taken.
Wheat Ridge PO Officer Frank Gonzales was at the scene durlnglhe investigation. Case Number 01-13805
