Removal of Existing Main Level Walls at IGtchen — Structural Modifications
Dear Yenni,
At your request, I have visited the site of the above referenced project to observe the existing framing
configuration in the vicinity of the main level dining room, kitchen, and sunroom. The proposed framing
modifications include the removal of the wall between the kitchen and sunroom and the removal of the wall
between the kitchen and dining room. The removal of these walls requires the installation of new wood headers to
support the existing roof and ceiling framing. See the attached sketch for additional information.
• SK -1 shows the configuration of the roof framing and new wood beams.
Please note that the existing roof and ceiling framing shall be temporarily shored as required until the installation
of all new framing is complete.
The structural design criteria for the project is as follows:
Governing building code: 2018 International Residential Code
Roof Snow Load: 30 Ib/sf
Roof Dead Load: 20 Ib/sf
• Basic Wind Speed: 135mph (Ultimate)
Wind Exposure Category: C

Relocation of Stair — Structural Modifications
Dear Yenni,
At your request, I have visited the site of the above referenced project to observe the existing framing
configuration in the vicinity of the stair from the main level to the basement. The proposed framing modifications
include relocating the stair further to the north and infilling the existing stair opening. See the attached sketches
for additional information the required structural framing modifications to accommodate the stair relocation.
• SK -2 shows the configuration of the main level floor framing in the vicinity of the stair.
• SK -3 shows the section through the new stair and the interface with the existing foundation wall.
Please note that the existing floor framing shall be temporarily shored as required until the installation of all new
framing is complete.
The structural design criteria for the project is as follows:

Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer
installation instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection
of elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project
address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof
material brand name) roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final
inspection.
Roof inspections for ROOFS OVER 6/12 PITCH: 3rd party inspection will be required, the 3rd
party inspection report will be collected at final roof inspection performed by City of
Wheat Ridge. If report is not available the final inspection will not be completed.

contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR PERMIT
IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE AND TIME
