Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) requires an approved inspection
prior to installation of ANY roof coverings and is require on the entire roof when spaced
or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Asphalt shingles are
required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and
water shield is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above
the roof eave and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections.
Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer
installation instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection
of elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project
address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof
material brand name) roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final
inspection.

C/) Thank you for taking the time to look over our project.
This letter addresses the two structural questions related to the kitchen and dining remodel. The
beam spanning the living room is canying no live load. It will be suspended from the rafters above,
and so is only there in order to save the existing plaster and allow us to remove a non- structural
wall. It will rest on two two by fours at each end, so it will not carry any tension load for that length.
Only the distance from where the hangers begin and end. The total span is twenty one feet plus
or minus, so minus the two feet from each end, our span is seventeen feel. Considering no live
load, we get only the weight of the ceiling. Two 9112" LVL beams will carry a total of 166 PLF at
2401L deflection, We are well inside allowable loads with only the ceiling hanging from it. We will
us Simpson type H2.5 hangers each side to carry the existing ceiling structure.
The second issue is the floor infill for the new closet, over an existing slab. We will use 2 x 8
pressure treated lumber there for the floor stucture. The structure will span the length easily, and
the pressure rtreatment gives use the required material near grade. Simpson hangers will be
used to tie the new structure into the existing. They will be type LUS 6.

As per our conversation today, the following is the information you requested:
We will be relocating the gas line; gas line is now 1" and reduces down to )4". We will run a 1" line from the
meter to the pre existing gas manifold for furnace, water heate, and dryer. We will run a new)4" line to cook
top. We will reduce to h at the appliance.
The bar sink will be 1 W ABS with an 1 W stud or vent located in cabinet. We will plumb new drain line for
relocated kitchen sink. This is not an addition, it is a relocation, The kitchen line will be 2" and a studor vent
will be located in cabinet. Both kitchen sink and bar sink will be tied in together in basement into the 2 drain
line.
