As requested, we observed subject structures.
1. We observed roof rafters and roof deck through attic 1KlCeSS. The rafters and roof decks
are in good condition no wBler mark nor weather de1eriomtion were DOted wm inside of
attic observation.
2. The owner stated that the buildings were built in 1957. If the buildings were lasted last 50
years without weather deteriomtion nor deformation outward, we assumed the buildings
.were designed as Engineer's design snow load of30 psfand 15 psf of dead load.
3. The roof has three layers of asphalt singles. The weight of asphalt shingles are 3 pound
per layer per square foot. 9 pound for three layers, and the weight of W' interior ceiling
gypsum bead is 2 pound per square foot (per Manual of Steel Construction, Ninth
Edition). The total dead load of II pound per square foot is within design dead load of 15
psf.
4. The existing roof structure will support 30 psf snow load if our assumption is correct.
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service and please contact our office should you have any
questions or require additional infonnation.
