Work shall comply with 2012 IRC & 2017 NEC. Per IRC Sec. R314, smoke detectors are required
to be installed in every sleeping room, in hallways outside of sleeping rooms, and on every
level of the structure.

Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name)
roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.
Roof inspections for ROOFS OVER 6/12 PITCH: 3rd party inspection will be required, the 3rd
party inspection report will be collected at final roof inspection performed by City of
Wheat Ridge. If report is not available the final inspection will not be completed.

This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process
varies and is subject to change. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR
PERMIT IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE
AND TIME WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if
your contractor's license or insurance has expired, and you may update those
documents at the time you are issued your permit.
For all other requests:
Homeowners wishing to obtain a roofing permit must apply for the permit in person
at City Hall. Revisions to existing permits (for example, to add redecking) must be
completed in person at City Hall. All other non -roofing permits must be completed in
person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

Volatile Soils:
The moisture around the foundation elements must be controlled for the useful life of the building.
Time has shown that Colorado soils can be unstable and structures can experience damaging
movements due to expanding and shrinking soils, primarily when moisture changes occur. Maintaining
consistent soil moisture contents around all foundation elements is crucial to minimizing foundation
movements, Even with property engineered/constructed foundation systems these volatile soils can still
exert excessive pressures causing damage in the residence. if the Owner would like further insight
about the on-site soil conditions and preventative measures, a Geotechnical Engineer should be
consulted.

the supported structures should be conducted to assure project success. The Owner should be

the possibility of future damage, and cost.

This report presents the results of the subsurface soils data and information obtained to be applied
toward the proposed activities at the location referenced above.
Soil information was retrieved fi-orn the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services (FRCS) Web
Soil Survey and analyzed to provide data on the classification and engineering characteristics of the on-
site soils.
This report has been prepared to summarize the data obtained and to present our conclusion and
recommendations based on the proposed structural retrofit and, the subsurface conditions encountered.
The proposed activities consist of the stabilization of an existing residential foundation system. The
existing foundation will be retrofitted with multiple Push Piers by Foundation Supportworks).
If the project Features differ significantly from those described, our firm should be contacted to
reevaluate the recommendations contained herein.
The subsurface conditions at the project location are known to consist of Nunn -Urban land complex, 5
to 9 percent slopes. The following table summarizes information obtained about the subsurface
conditions common to the project location.
Groundwater is expected to be well below existing grade however the table may rise due to seasonal
changes, degree of irrigation and/or other factors.

Seismic influence is negligible with no anticipated impacts to the foundation underpinning. Frost depth
shall be considered to be 30"' below existing grade. The native soils may include elements that possess
corrosive properties. If concrete is to be used in the repair, all concrete, shall be Type 11. All below grade
steel shall be galvanized, painted, or coated with other approved sealer to prevent corrosion.
A new subsurface foundation drain is not required for this prqject. If an existing drain is darnaged during
excavation, the damaged section should be repaired. Subsurface drain construction and/or repairs shall
be inspected by the foundation design engineer of record.
Any soil disturbed adjacent to bearing foundation components shall be compacted to a minimum of 85%
Modified Proctor Density. Soil supporting concrete slabs shall be compacted to 95%. Mechanical
compaction methods shall be used.
The following drainage precautions should be maintained:
1) The ground surface surrounding the exterior of the building should be sloped to drain away from
the foundation in all directions. We recommend a minimum slope of 12 inches in the first 10
feet.
2) Roof downspouts and drains should discharge well beyond the limits of the backfill.
3) Landscaping which requires excessive watering should be located at least 10 feet from the house.
4) Plastic membranes should not be used to cover the ground surface adjacent to the foundation
walls.

This report has been prepared with generally accepted soil and foundation engineering practices in this
area for use by the client for design purposes. The conclusions and recommendations presented are
based on soils information obtained from maps, literature and online resources (i.e., United States
Department of. cult re (USDA). The nature and extent of variation from this report may not become
evident until excavation is performed. If during construction, soil, rock and groundwater conditions
appear to be different from those described herein, our office should be advised immediately so that
reevaluation of the recommendations may be made.
It must be noted that precautions should be taken to accommodate for inconsistencies in the
properties/characteristics of the on-site soil, variations in groundwater levels due to seasonal changes,
etc.
This report is valid ONLY for use toward proposed activities listed within this report and shall

This pennit was issued in accordance with the provisions set forth in yopur application and is subject to the laws of the State of Colorado and to the Zoning
Regulations and BuildinG! Code of Wheat Ridge, Colorado or any other applicable ordinances of the City.
This permit shall expire If (A) the work authorized is not commenced within sixty (60) days from issue date or (B) the building authorized is suspended or
abandoned for a period of 120 days.
If this permit expires, a new permit may be acquired for a fee of one-half the amount normally required, provided no changes have been or will be made in the
original plans and specifications and any suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one (1) year. If changes are made or if suspension or abandonment
exceeds one (1) year, full fees shall be paid for a new permit.
No work ohny manner shall be done that will change the natural flow of water causing a drainage problem.
Contractor shall notify the Building Inspector twenty-four (24) hOU. rs in advance for all inspections and shall receive written approval on inspection card before
proceediing with successive phases of the job.
The issuance of a permit or the approval of drawings and specifications shall not be construed to be a permit for, nor an approval of. any violation of the provisions
of the bUi~ding ies;;n 7dce, law, rule or regulation.
