I made observations of the soils in the footing excavation this morning. Banuelos Quality Concrete was the foundation subcontractor. The subgrade soils had been compacted using a jumping jack compactor and the soils were consistent with our geotechnical report (medium sand) and should provide the design bearing capacity. We performed a compaction test on the subgrade soils, the results of which were passing and are attached with this report. The rebar in the footings was consistent with the structural plans. The LIFER ground had been installed and was wire tied in several places to the continuous footing rebar to achieve a length of greater than 20 feet. 2-8-17 Stem Walls. I made observations of the rebar in the stem wall forms this afternoon prior to placement of concrete. The rebar pattern and size were in compliance with the structural drawings. We tested the concrete during placement. The test results are attached. The 28 day strength of 3500 psi specified on the structural drawings has been met. 2-10-17 I made observations that damp -proofing compound had been applied to the exterior of the foundation stem wall and footings on all sides of the new addition.
