Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) requires an approved inspection
prior to installation of ANY roof coverings and is require on the entire roof when spaced
or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Asphalt shingles are
required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and
water shield is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above
the roof eave and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections.
Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer
installation instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection
of elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project
address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof
material brand name) roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final
inspection.

Residential Roofing Permit Application
This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR PERMIT
IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE AND TIME
WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if your
contractor's license or insurance has expired, and you may update those
documents at the time you are issued your permit. Permits are currently being
processed within 3-5 business days, subject to change based on volume.
For all other requests:
Homeowners wishing to obtain a roofing permit must apply for the permit in person
at City Hall. Revisions to existing permits (for example, to add redecking) must be
completed in person at City Hall. All other non -roofing permits must be completed in
person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

Lead: For houses built prior to 1978 there is a high probability lead may have been used to point the exterior. We are required to use certain techniques to ensure the lead is
correctly removed when the amount disturbed exceeds twenty square feet. Typically the amount of point disturbed is negligible if just the roof is being replaced but almost always
the case if gutters or siding are being removed. Tiley Roofing is a lead certified renovation firm allowing us to perform this procedure. Prior to contracting please let us know if your
house was built prior to 1978- If the house is pre -1978 we will perform a lead test. If the test is positive for lead we will assess a fee in addition to the above costs. Generally this fee
ranges from $500 to $1000.

claim for restoration of the insured, we are in no way a representative of the insurer nor Public Adjuster adjusting claims
for losses.
Upon review of the initial claim it appears numerous items were omitted and misidentified thus resulting in the loss
control mitigated preliminary claim.
Please review and call or email to discuss the following items.
• Requiring Use of a particular repair material business (MRP program) distributor to enforce a market barrier
(omitted delivery and ground drop materials in street forcing OSHA violation hand caring materials up ladder)
monopoly and market barrier contrary to C.R.S 10-4-120 with less than industry standard pricing and incorrect
existing product identification.
• Existing CertainTeed Landmark IR shingle is equivalent to 40 yr. (Haag gauge finder) and clearly IR Impact
Resistant shingle with observation underneath edge of shingle. 27.33 sqs. @ $62.20 = $1,700 in mitigated
existing product identification.
• Entire roof area is low slope 3/12 roof deck with 2 layers existing synthetic underlayment (existing and building
code required). 14.47 sqs.@ $27.99= $412.74 omitted 2nd layer underlayment.
• Incorrect Solar Powered Fan Identification (existing hail damaged) and 1 complete motor/solar panel/cap unit
required for replacement $677.00
• Gutters (identified as damaged) missing 3 sections South and West damaged downspouts (see pictures
photo gallery) missing 67' @ $5.79= $387.93.
• Corrugated fiberglass roofing materials only on claim, NO labor nor frame metal system is accounted for (claim
$S03.39) actual materials, labor and frame repairs required for replacement is $1,496.00 (please see
pictures of damage) $503 listed, additional $993.00 required.
• Know and verifiable cost of required permit for reroof inspection with city of Wheat Ridge $400.00.
• Shed reroof approximately 120' from the driveway access, Supporting events requiring 2 roofing labor hrs. for
safe and OSHA authorized transport of tear off debris and material loading 4 @ $42.80= $171.20.
