Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection. Subsurface conditions were investigated in the Soils and Materials Consultants, Inc. soils and foundation report dated July 29, 2002. The drilling of the 41 piers for the proposed residence was observed. The observed piers obtained the minimum specified 22-foot length and 8 feet of penetration into bedrock. Actual pier lengths ranged from 22 to 23.5 feet. Structural steel was placed in accordance with project plans and specifications. A stinger pipe was placed at the bottom of all holes in which groundwater was encountered and concrete was pumped from the bottom up. Groundwater ranged in depth from 3-7 feet. Concrete was placed from the pump truck following excavation and steel placement. All observed piers were installed in general conformance with the structural plans prepared by Heavener Engineering on March 22, 2005.
