inspecuion, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) requires an approved inspection
prior to instr,llation of ANY roof coverings and is require on the entire roof when spaced
or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Asphalt shingles are
required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and
water shield is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above
the roof eave and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections.
Roof ventilation is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer
installation instructions, whichever is more stringent.. In order to pass a final inspection
of elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project
address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof
material brand name) roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final
inspection.
Roof inspections for ROOFS OVER 6/12 PITCH: 3rd party inspection will be required, the 3rd
party inspection report will be collected at final roof inspection performed by City of
Wheat Ridge. If report is not available the final inspection will not be completed.

Residential Roofing Permit Application
This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process
varies and is subject to change. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR
PERMIT IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE
AND TIME WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if

CSCOPE OF WORK AND MATERIALS
Existing Roof Condition: Hail Damaged noted throughout the entire roof area
Existing Leaks with Location: None reported.
Demolition: Removal and disposal of existing layers (specified above) and I layer roof underloyment. Removal of additional hidden
layers is extra.
Decking Inspection: Inspect existing nailing pattern on decking. Nailing pattern should be 6" spacing on perimeter and 17' in the
field per engineer's specifications for retro fitting tile. Additional charges may apply and are not included in the amount below.
Typically this amount is less than $500 if additional nailing is required.
Underlayment: Synthetic Tile Roof undenayment and 2 rows row of Ice and Water Shield on the eave and I row in valley areas (per
local building code).
Flashing: 26 gauge bronze drip edge, bronze headwall, galvanized 5 rib -valley, and galvanized sidewail. All roof penetration
flashings including jacks and vents primary and secondary. Face mounted visible flashing may be required at roof to wall
intersections.
Ventilation: Install high collar tile vents painted to match or ridge vent (if option chosen). Install Ridge Vent main ridge lines.
Batten System: Elevated batten system.
Tile: Standard weight the (Boral Tile standard colors) with accessory pieces (hip/ridge, rake and hip starters). Alternate the profiles,
patterns, blends and stagger are available (for an additional cost), please call for details.
Warranty: Ten -Year Workmanship Warranty and Fifty- Year or Limited Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty.

CSCOPE OF WORK AND MATERIALS
Existing Roof Condition: Hail Damaged noted throughout the entire roof area
Existing Leaks with Location: None reported.
Demolition: Removal and disposal of existing layers (specified above) and I layer roof underloyment. Removal of additional hidden
layers is extra.
Decking Inspection: Inspect existing nailing pattern on decking. Nailing pattern should be 6" spacing on perimeter and 17' in the
field per engineer's specifications for retro fitting tile. Additional charges may apply and are not included in the amount below.
Typically this amount is less than $500 if additional nailing is required.
Underlayment: Synthetic Tile Roof undenayment and 2 rows row of Ice and Water Shield on the eave and I row in valley areas (per
local building code).
Flashing: 26 gauge bronze drip edge, bronze headwall, galvanized 5 rib -valley, and galvanized sidewail. All roof penetration
flashings including jacks and vents primary and secondary. Face mounted visible flashing may be required at roof to wall
intersections.
Ventilation: Install high collar tile vents painted to match or ridge vent (if option chosen). Install Ridge Vent main ridge lines.
Batten System: Elevated batten system.
Tile: Standard weight the (Boral Tile standard colors) with accessory pieces (hip/ridge, rake and hip starters). Alternate the profiles,
patterns, blends and stagger are available (for an additional cost), please call for details.
Warranty: Ten -Year Workmanship Warranty and Fifty- Year or Limited Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty.
Cleanup: Daily cleanups and thorough cleanup upon completion, including roller magnet.
