Designed to provide wind and seismic ties for trusses and ratters, this versatile line may
be used for general tie purposes, strongback attachments, and as all-purpose ties where one
member crosses another.
The H4 and H5 hurricane ties have unique shapes that result in higher loads and require
fewer nails. The designs allow for installation on the inside of the member without interiering
with the drywall, or on the outside of the member without interfering with the sheathing
material. The H5 is designed to tie the top two wall plates to the rafter.
The versatile H6 and H7 hurricane ties are designed and tested for high load capacity. Use

POST BASES
Fully.adjustable post base offers moisture protection, structural values,
ease of installation, and finished hardware appearance. Standoff plate provides
flat end bearing for post and keeps post end 11/8" above surface moisture.
MATERIAL: 12 gauge adjustment and stand-off plates; 16 gauge base cover
FINISH: Galvanized
INSTALLATION:. Post nail hotes are sized for lOd commons.
. Rectangular adjustment plate assumes 112" diameter anchorage.
. The AS is supplied as shown; bend up the fourth side after positioning
the post and securing the easy-access nut.
. For non.bolt, non-adjustment installations, 3/16" holes for the optional
nail holdown or powder actuated fasteners in a concrete or timber base
are provided in the base cover.
. A 2" minimum side cover is required to obtain the tullload.
. Not recommended for non-top-supported installations such as fences.

New base design includes anchor bolt adjustment slot. Four-sided
standoff plate increases download support, provides attractive appearance,
and meets code.required 1" standoff.
MATERIAL: ABU base-12 gauge; A8U standoff-16 gauge; A8E-16 gauge

INSTALLATION: . Use all specified fasteners. See General Notes.
. ABE base is sized for a %" dia. anchor bolt embedded 4" into the
concrete according to the code; ABU tor a %" dia. anchor bolt capable
of 2500 Ibs tension. Other anchorage may be used provided it is the
correct diameter and provides the appropriate uplift resistance. Install
required washer (included) as in the illustration.
. Not recommended for non-top-supported installations such as fences.
OPTIONS AVAILABLE: . Product may not be modified. However, ABE has two
16d nail holes in the base for optional nail.down applications. The uplift
load does not apply to this application.
