Sample Collection - PCM samples, when applicable, were collected on 25- millimeter (mm) mixed - cellulose, ester - membrane filters with 0.45- micron pore size with an effective collection area of 385 mm. All filters were pre - assembled by the manufacturer in three stages, conductive sampling cassettes with extension cowls. Air samples were collected at an average flow rate 12.5 liters per minute (L /m) using Thomas high- volume pumps with a minimum of 1,200 liters being collected. Flow rates were collected at the beginning and at the end of the sampling period utilizing an airflow rotameter calibrated against a primary -flow calibration instrument. Start times and stop times were recorded for all sampling periods. A field blank and lab blank were also collected and analyzed along with the five (5) clearance samples.
