It is a duplex with adjacent garages with floors of slab-on-grade. There is a full basement. The west basement wall (wall at the front) has a horizontal crack as does the east wall at the southeast comer. The soil is expansive and the drainage on the west side of the house is marginal. There is no visible damage or cracking on the inside main floor. Observations 1. Cracking in the west wall. The west wall has a hair-line crack for most of its length. It is widest just below the basement window nearest the garage wall. This shows evid ce 0 mOIsture s~1J& Into it over time as seen in the weathered crack and the blistering of the (laint seMarl1t~~D . below it. The paint blistered because of moisture. Subject to Field Inspections Wheat Ridge Building Dept. Date: Plan checker Signed: This crack has caused the wall to buckle inward approximately 1/8 inch. This has not caused any damage in the upper part of the structure. However it must be stabilized in its present condition for no damage to occure later to the house structure. The crack continues further to the south along the same wall. This is shown through cut- away sections in the adjacent stud and plasterboard wall. 2. Cracking in the east wall. The east wall has a very fine crack beginning at the south end and extending approximately 8 ft. This is the beginning of a longer crack if left unattended. Also, there was a crack extending from the window corner that appears to have been patched. This crack has not grown.
