We have many emails going back and forth regarding this project and we need to move forward with getting this corrected by the contractor and the revision issued. It is my understanding that the existing walls are of double wythe brick masonry. HEADER SPECIFICATION: Use a double l-3/4"X7-1/4" MicroLam (E=1.9) beam. The beam may bear directly onto the outer wythe of the brick masonry wall. The "pony wall" above the beam should have 1/2" plywood sheathing attached to one side with 8d nails at 3" o.c. maximum, and the plywood should lap down over the beam by 4" and be nailed to the beam similar to the pony wall.
