Effect of Abnormal Water: I understand that uncontrolled water indoors is abnormal and may cause several problems that should be addressed: (1) Water may migrate into other areas of the Property so it is highly recommended that all potentially affected areas be evaluated; (2) Materials swell as they absorb moisture and rapid drying will help reduce permanent damage; and (3) High humidity from evaporation can damage materials if allowed to continue and these problems get worse the longer materials remain wet. Reducing rnicrobe growth: I understand that the following steps can be taken to reduce microbe growth: (1) Water can be removed as quickly and as thoroughly as possible; (2) Rapid air -movement can increase the rate of evaporation; (3) The relative humidity indoors can be reduced; and (4) If necessary, antimicrobials may be applied. (Soilogic) personnel have completed the residential site observations you requested for the referenced project. The results of our observations are included with this report, On June 17, 2015, a Soilogic field engineer observed the foundation bearing materials for the footing foundations for 4000 Fenton Court of the referenced multi -family residential development. We understand the residence will be a two or three-story wood -frame structure constructed over a full basement. At the time of our site observation, the basement and garage areas had been excavated to approximate foundation bearing elevation, The exposed materials observed at the approximate foundation bearing level in tI basement area consisted of natural, moist brown lean clay with sand. One (1) hand an boring extended to a depth of approximately 3 feet below basement foundation beari level revealed similar materials extending to the depth explored. Free groundwater w not encountered to the depth explored at the time of our observation. Hand probe t indicated the lean clay with sand was stiff in consistency. These discrepancies have leen found: 2) The IECC compliance report, and manuals "J" and "D" design documents submitted have pages missing and do not make three sets. Please submit three complete sets (separately bound) of these reports, (Sections M1401.3 & M1601.2,2006 IRC). 3) The main walls/ upper floor/lower roof plan notes afew headers as 2 X 20's. I phoned the architect who informed me that they should be 2 X 6's; I would have red -lined it if it was the only correction item found on the plans; however, since I have more comments, please update this sheet to reflect the correct header size.
