1. This permit was issued based on the information provided in the permit application and accompanying plans and
specifications and is subject to the compliance with those documents, and all applicable statutes, ordinances,
regulations, policies and procedures. -
2. This permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must
be made in writing and received prior to the date of expiration. An extension of no more than 180 days made be granted
at the discretion of the Chief Building Official and may be subject to a fee equal to one- half of the original permit fee.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit may be required to be obtained. Issuance of a new permit shall be subject to
the standard requirements, fees and procedures for approval of any new permit. Re- issuance or extension of expired
permits is at the sole discretion of the Chief Building Official and is not guaranteed.
4. No work of any manner shall be performed that shall results in a change of the natural flow of water without prior
and specific approval.
5. The permit holder shall notify the Building and Inspection Services Division in accordance with established policy
of all required inspections and shall not proceed or conceal work without written approval of such work from the
Building and Inspection Services Division.
6. The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of, any violation of
any provision of any applicable code or any ordinance or regulation of this jurisdiction. Approval of work is subject

I have evaluated the Unirac SolarMountTM "Code - Compliant Planning and Assembly ",
Installation Manual 214, copyright March 2004 and certify that the information and
results are accurate. To determine the design level forces for wind and snow, the
Installation Manual - Figure 1 map based upon the Uniform Building Code will need to
be amended with the appropriate wind speed or snow loading intensity determined from
the International Building Code (IBC) — 2003 /2006, International Residential Code (IRC)
— 2003/2006, or ASCE7- 02/05 as prescribed by the adopted year specified by Colorado's
local code referenced requirements.
The International Building Code requires that wind loading be determined based upon
ASCE 7 -02/05 Simplified Method 1 or ASCE 7 -02/05 using Method 2, that which is
dependent upon conditions of spatial form, height and other structure parameters that are
specified in the code provisions for dete the applied wind loading pressures
imposed onto the Unirac SolarMountTm rails supporting solar panels.
For enclosed buildings that meet specific provisions of the Simplified Method and as
shown in - Figure 6 -3, the Unirac's Table I wind pressures are appropriate for design
wind loads for Interior Zones (no restriction to effective area) and End Zones (with an
effective area greater than 20 square feet).
For other conditions, the determination of wind pressures should be determined by the
aforementioned ASCE 7 -02/05 procedures.

Re: Structural feasibility of installing a PV solar array at the Wilder residence, 1 I Paramount
Parkway Wheat Ridge, CO 80215.
On 9/13/2011 Jeremy Roepka of Independent Power Systems examined and measured the
existing roof framing structure at 11 Paramount Parkway Wheat Ridge, CO 80215. The purpose of
this visit was to gather information regarding the adequacy of the roof structure to support a new flush
mounted photovoltaic (PV) electrical generation system.
Analysis of the roof structure followed the 2009 editions of the International Building Code
and the International Residential Code as amended by the Wheat Ridge Building Department. The PV
system is to haven maximum self weight of 3.5 -psf- The - basic wind - speed - for -the site is -100 -mph. The - -
wind exposure category for the site is exposure category C. A minimum roof snow load of 30 psf is
specified by the Boulder County Building Department.
The existing roof structure, which will support the new PV system, is composed of 2x6
Douglas Fir Rafter spaced at 24" on center. After performing an analysis for the affected structure, it
was determined that none of the Rafters reviewed will be overstressed under the greatest anticipated
loading conditions.
For the purposes of observing structural conditions, the onsite review of an existing structure
requires that certain assumptions be made regarding existing conditions. Some of these assumptions
used in the analysis may not be verifiable without additional monetary expenditures or the destruction
of otherwise adequate or serviceable portions of the building. The client agrees that, except for
negligence on the part of the Engineer, the Client will hold harmless, indemnify and defend the
Engineer from and against any and all claims arising out of the professional services the Engineer
provides. If conditions not identified in this report are discovered during subsequent inspections or
repair work, the Engineer should be contacted for appropriate re- evaluation and recommendations.

than one roof zone.
