The anchor locations as shown on the attached drawings are adequate for a secure installation. Maximum suction wind pressure (32 psf) is more than the snow load (30 psf), so the wind pressure load governs at supporting trusses at foot mountings for rails. Existing Roof Existing 2" X 4" @ 24" roof truss framing has been investigated for bending and shear limits resulting from the proposed construction and determined to be adequate for the proposed solar panel array installations. He reviewed the staff report and digital presentation. He noted that there were two letters of opposition contained in the staff report. Staff found there are unique circumstances attributed to the request that would warrant approval of a variance. Mr. Tietz estimated another 15 or 20 feet. John and Janet Jackson 3225 Miller Street Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, the applicants, were sworn by Chair BUCKNAM. Mr. Jackson stated that his present garage only accommodates one vehicle and he would like to build another garage to accommodate their second vehicle. However, Mr. Honaman expressed concern with construction that is occurring in the neighborhood. He and other neighbors want to keep the open feeling in their neighborhood. Board Member HOVLAND commented that the proposed garage has a good design and would not be intrusive. Board Member BUCKNAM agreed that the perceived setback of the garage in relation to the street it fronts on would present minimal neighborhood. Board Member LINKER asked if the roof would house.
