The proposed house will have a crawl space. At the time of our visit the excavation had been dug to a depth of 2 to 4 feet deep. The soil exposed in the bottom consisted of slightly moist, stiff, dark brown, sand), clay and was similar to that encountered in our borings. About 3 feet of fill Nvas founded in the west side wa1L In our opinion the house may be founded on Type 4 spread footings designed for a maximum soil pressure of 2,500 psf and a minimum dead load pressure of 800 psf.
