Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name)
roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.
Roof inspections for ROOFS OVER 6/12 PITCH: 3rd party inspection will be required, the 3rd
party inspection report will be collected at final roof inspection performed by City of
Wheat Ridge. If report is not available the final inspection will not be completed.

Residential Roofing Permit Application
This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process
varies and is subject to change. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR
PERMIT IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE
AND TIME WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if
your contractor's license or insurance has expired, and you may update those

Ai your request, on August 191h and 21st, 1997, fooling and foundation wall inspections
were performed on the single-family residence located at 3899 Lee Circle,
Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The pertinent information regarding the inspections is as
follows:
FOOTING FOUNDATIONIN.SPFC77ON- AUGUST 19 1997
The footings were constructed according to [he foundation plans that were on the site.
The footings had been properly sized and rehforced with two no. 5 bars, grade 60. All
q f the bars were properly lapped and tied The footings were properly bulk-headed off at
all of the excavation step-downs. All of the interior pads were also properly sized The
rein forcemeat for the pads was properly tied and sized according to the foundation plans.
All concrete was placed on undisnurbed natural soils, and all loose debris removed from
the
footing forms prior to placement of concrete.
FOUNDATIONREINFORCING S7F.F_L INSPECTION- AUGUST 211997
The foundation walls were reinforced horizontally with two no. 5 bats, grade 60, lop and
bottom. All of the bars were properly lapped and lied The rein forcing steel was
properly placed at [he foundation wall step-downs and window openings.
The forms were centered on the concrete footitng founndation, and vertical dowels were
spaced at 2'0" to atlach the footing to the new foundation walls. All of the reinforcement
was properly placed according to my recommendations.

At the time of our visit on August 27, 1997, the underdrain had been installed.
The perforated underdrain was surrounded with gravel, the drain and gravel was
underlain with a plastic membrane and was overlain with lapped roofing paper. The
top of the gravel was 36 to 49 inches below the top of the foundation wall. A sump
was located in the southwest comer of the lower level and was about 25 inches deep.
The invert of the pipe entering the sump was about 51 inches below the top of the
foundation wall. The sump was dry at the time of our visit.
The drain appeared to be installed substantially in accordance with our
recommendations.
