The perforated underdrain was surrounded with gravel, the gravel covered drain was underlain with a plastic membrane and was overlain with lapped roofing paper. The top of the gravel was 111 to 136 inches below the top of the highest foundation walL A sump pit was located in the southeast comer of the lower level and the pit was about 30 inches deep. The invert of the pipe entering the sump pit was about 154 inches below the top of the foundation wall. The pit was dry at the time of our observation.
