The perforated underdrain was underlain with a plastic membrane, the pipe was covered with 1 to 3 inches of 1 1/2" gravel, there was 4 to 6 inches at the pipe haunches and 0 - 1/2 inch beneath the pipe, the pipe and gravel were overlain with lapped roofing paper. The top of the drain was 42 to 108 inches below the top of the foundation wall. A sump was located in the northwest corner of the northern area of the lower level, the bottom of the sump was 131 inches and the invert of the pipe entering the sump was 115 inches below the top of the foundation wall. We recommend a minimum of 2 inches of gravel be placed under the drain pipe and that the other design detail recommendations be followed.
