Co., Request for Fence Permit to enclose 47 Ave east, west, and Harlan Street, north, south.
Dear Darin,
After a second review of the proposed plans for fencing of the Queen of Vietnamese
Martyrs Church located at 47 and Harlan, I am submitting the following information
Irequirements concerning this project:
I. The access points for the East Side of the building have been incorporated into the plan
with swing gates in back of the hydrant on Harlan Street
2. Complete information regarding the type of gates that they want to install on the north
side of the building will be needed before any approval can be given. According to Tom
Reck, Architect for the project, the proposed gates will be the balanced lift type at this
time. This apparently is not cast in stone.
3. The fence has been relocated on the north side of the building so as not to obstruct the fire
hydrant or the fire department connection according to Mr. Reck.
4. The contractor should provide a complete set of plans for the fencing showing details
regarding the fire hydrant on Harlan with the swing gate and the layout for the rest of the
remaining area including how they will not obstruct the hydrant at the comer ofthe
building entry on the north side and the fire department connection.
5. I specifically request that NO PERMIT be issued until complete information and plans
including design for the fence, gates, and egress gates be provided by the contractor and
approved prior to installation.

Co., Request for Fence Permit to enclose 47 Ave east, west, and Harlan Street, north, south.
Dear Darin,
After a review of the proposed plans for fencing of the Queen of Vietnamese Martyrs
Church located at 47 and Harlan, I am submitting the following information Irequirements
concerning this project:
1. The access points for the East Side of the building will need to have gates installed in the
fence in order to provide emergency access directly from Harlan Street on the East Side.
Gates will need to be a minimum of 60 inches wide with no lockable devices installed.
2. Complete information regarding the type of gates that they want to install on the north
side of the building will be needed before any approval can be given.
3. The fence appears to obstruct the fire hydrant located on Harlan Street and on 47 Ave.
The fire hydrants can not be obstructed and must remain clear in the front with 3 feet of
clearance around the hydrant.
4. Both gates shown on the north side of the building obstruct fire department access and is
not permitted. The East gate will obstruct the fire department connection for the fire
sprinkler system installed through out the building. The west gate shown on the plans
obstructs the ability to access the north door to the building on the West Side that
provides entry to the sprinkler control room located on the north side of the building.
5. I specifically request that NO PERMIT be issued until complete information and plans
including design for the fence, gates, and egress gates be provided by the contractor and
approved prior to installation.
