This last time has been the worse ever. Had I known at the right time what I have learned lately, I would not be writing this letter. For your information, I would like to make a summary of the whole situation to see if there is any arrangement that can be made; my apartment is unpleasant and unhealthy, I am almost 70 years old and I am on a fixed income. My rent was raised as of July I st. 2015, and I signed a new agreement for 9 months to avoid a higher increase. With the incidents that have occurred during the past month, it seems to me that it was you who broke the contract because the apt. was not habitable for several days. I am presenting the facts as best as I can recollect. On the late evening of Monday, June 29th and early morning Tuesday, June 30th, the sewer backed up into my apt. and it flooded the entrance, part of the dining room area, and the patio with sewage water and feces. It also backed up into the toilet and the bathtub, I had to go to the Recreation Center to take a shower because the bathtub was full of feces. I am usually the first one to call because the toilets start makinM a gurgling noise in the middle of the night, The solution by the administration was to use a fan to dry the carpet. It happened the same on the late evening of Tuesday 6/30 to early morning Wednesday 7/1, and this time it was worse because most of the dining room and a great part of the living room was completely flooded, same with the toilet and bathtub again. Up to half of the living room, when I walked to go out to work, it splashed like in a big paddle of water with feces floating, and the patio was almost 2" deep of sewer water and feces. The solution from the administration was to pull up the carpet and a fan underneath to dry the carpet, which was covered in at puddle of water of at least 1 " deep (padding was removed dripping as much as if coming out of the lake). Bookcases from the living room, chairs, coffee table and small table had to be moved into the kitchen-, dining room table pushed against the wall and chairs Elizabeth about it, she said that I had to wait until Monday because the maintenance crew was already gone. To summarize the last four-plus weeks, I have not been able to fully utilize my apt. The conditions primarily due to the flooding made the apt. unhealthy and physically very difficult to live in; I have had headaches, nauseous, and trouble breathing (stuffy nose) because of the putrid air, which is extremely unhealthy.
