Today I met John Marriott on-site to discuss existing landscaping that will be impacted by the
proposed office/storage addition to the north site of the existing structure. While the addition will
displace non-living areas comprised of a handicapped ramp and flagstone walkway, the adjacent live
landscaping will be impacted by the construction.
By signing this memorandum, the property owner agrees that prior to the issuance of a C.O. for the
addition, he would restore the damaged landscaping to have at a minimum, a quantity of two trees
(2" caliper each) and five five-gallon bushes with appropriate low maintenance ground cover.

This letter is in regard to your application for approval of a building permit for the property
referenced above. The application is for a building addition of 696 square feet located on the
north side of the structure.
It appears that the proposed addition is to be located in an area which currently contains
landscaping. The existing landscaping impacted by the expansion consists of evergreen bushes
and aspen trees. Because the property is substandard to the city's required landscaped coverage
on commercial properties, this landscaping will have to be made up elsewhere on the property.

We would request that a building permit not be issued until the following items are
addressed:
1) - The building official shall determine the occupancy type and if an occupancy
separation between the existing relaU busin.ess and the new addition is
required and if exiting requirements are met for the proposed storage addition.
It is noted on the plans that an overhead door will be installed for storage
access, which could accommodate a motorized vehicle. mc 03 503.3.2.
2) The owner/occupant will need to verify that sufficient electrical receptacles

3) Fire extinguishers shall be a 4-A rated 100lb ABC dry chemical type, fully
charged with current inspection tags, mounted not less than 3 reet nor more
than 5 feet from the floor to tbe top of the mounting bracket. The required
number of extinguishers and mounting information shall be provided prior to
final inspection. IFC 03 906.3 Amended.
4) Any code requirements arising from constrUCtion will be addressed.

approval on inspection card before proceeding with successive phases of the job.
(6) The issuance of a permit or the approval of drawings and specifications shall not be construed to be a permit for, nor an
approval of, any violation of the provisions of the building cod~s or any other ordinance, law, rule or regulation. All plan review
