In order to pass a final inspection on commercial elastomeric or similar type roofing, a
letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical representative stating
that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been applied in accordance with
the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof covering" is required to
be on site at the time of final inspection. Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle
installations require an approved midroof inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the
roof covering is installed, prior to final approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or
overlay) requires an approved inspection prior to installation of ANY roof coverings and is
require on the entire roof when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half
inch exists. Asphalt shingles are required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum
of 6 nails per shingle. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave and secured in place
is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation is required to comply
with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions, whichever is more
stringent.

2. This permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must be made in writing and

Commercial Interior Remodel Permit Submittal Checklist
Applications for Commercial Interior Remodel such as tenant improvements/finishes,
space configuration changes, changes in use and similar projects are reviewed by the Building
and Inspection Services Division for compliance with applicable ordinances and design criteria
and are required to be approved prior to issuance of a building permit. Conversion of existing
space to a new use will require additional review and approval by the Planning Division and
Fire District. The following list of documents or information is required at the time of submission
of application for permit:
• Completed City of Wheat Ridge Permit Application form containing the following:
o Property owner name, address and contact information
o Contractor and subcontractor information {A contractor currently licensed with the City of
Wheat Ridge, possessing a minimum Class 2 license, is required at the time of submission and all
subcontractors must be disclosed and currently licensed in the appropriate licensing class prior to
issuance of a building permit)
o Detailed description of work to be performed
o Contract value of all work to be performed
o Printed name and signature of individual submitting application
A copy of the Property Deed or other document(s) verifying residency/ownership may
be required prior to acceptance of an application or issuance of a permit
Two (2) sets of minimum 11" x 17" construction plans containing:
Separate floor plans, one depicting existing conditions and one depicting proposed new

In order to pass a final inspection on commercial elastomeric or similar type roofing, a
letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical representative stating
that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been applied in accordance with
the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof covering" is required to
be on site at the time of final inspection. Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle
installations require an approved midroof inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the
roof covering is installed, prior to final approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or
overlay) requires an approved inspection prior to installation of ANY roof coverings and is
require on the entire roof when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half
inch exists. Asphalt shingles are required to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum
of 6 nails per shingle. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave and secured in place
is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation is required to comply
with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions, whichever is more
