Building codes: Wind Velocity used -Vultimate-: Wind Velocity required-V.asd -: per IBC 1609.1.1 Exposure Category Roof Snow Load used: Pitch of trusses: IBC 2015, ASCE 7-10 120 (mph) 93.0 (mph) C 40 (psf) 3 /12 The existing trusses were then evaluated based on their span, pitch, depth, framing member size (2x4 DFLtrusses @24" o.c.), and attachmentto sheathing. Trusses were analyzed under the following loads. Dead load of panels at each attachment point: 24.64 lbs Snow load +Dead load per attachment point: 376.64 lbs Wind load per attachment point Interior roof zone: -386.04 lbs Edge zone at eaves: -386.04 lbs Edge zone at gable: -303.32 lbs Corner zone at ridge: -358.47 lbs Corner zone at eaves: -275.74 lbs 1. Solar panels should be mounted to rails in accordance with the most recent "Ironridge Installation Manual" which is found (http:\\ironridge.com\) At rail ends near panel array edge zones, solar panels supports should be attached attached to trusses to at each rail. At interior points, rail supports may be attached to trusses in a staggered pattern with no more than 48" between support points along a single rail. 2. Solar panels shall be attached to trusses using a 5/16" diameter lag screw. The allowable pullout per lag screw is 258 lbs/inch as identified in the NDS (National Design Standards. Penetration of the lag screw shall be a minimum of 2 1/2" inches into each truss. 3. Roof Pitch, member sizes, and geometric data for this analysis was obtained from a site survey conducted by Duncan Twyman of Empire Solar Group acting under my responsible charge. Satellite aerial imagery, and topographical site information from other sources also provided geometrical data used in this evaluation. I provide my certification as a licensed engineer registered in this state that this structure has the capacity to resist the additional loads, and the altered loading scenario induced with the attachment of this solar array. If you have any questions regarding this analysis, please do not hesitate to contact me. Very respectfully O opDOL O ..N MARA 41/0/211020 r oss/ONAEG Stephen Mark Bryner, P.E. SFM has been classified to the system level fire portion of UL 1703. This UL 1703 classification has been incorporated into the UL 2703 product certification. SFM has achieved Class A, B & C system level performance for low slope & steep sloped roofs when used in conjunction with type 1 and type 2 modules. Class A, B & C system level fire performance is inherent in the SFM design, and no additional mitigation measures are required. The fire classification rating is valid for any roof pitch. This system is designed to provide bonding and grounding to photovoltaic modules. The mounting system employs anodized or mill finish aluminum brackets that are roof mounted using the slider, outlined in section 4 of this report. There are no rails within this product, whereas the 3" Micro Rail, Floating Splice, and 9" Attached Splice electrically bond the modules together forming the path to ground. The Micro Rails are installed onto the module frame by using a stainless steel bolt anodized with black oxide with a stainless type 300 bonding pin, torqued to 20 ft -lbs, retaining the modules to the bracket. The bonding pin of the Micro Rail when bolted and torqued, penetrate the anodized coating of the photovoltaic module frame (at bottom flange) to contact the metal, Description creating a bonded connection from module to module. The grounding of the entire system is intended to be in accordance with the latest edition of the National Electrical Code, including NEC 250: Grounding and Bonding, and NEC 690: Solar Photovoltaic Systems or the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA C22.1 Part 1 in accordance to the revision in effect in the jurisdiction in which the project resides. Any local electrical codes must be adhered in addition to the national electrical codes. The Grounding Lug is secured to the photovoltaic module, torqued in accordance with the installation manual provided in this document. Other optional grounding includes the use of the Enphase UL2703 certified grounding system, which requires a minimum of 2 micro -inverters mounted to the same rail, and using the same engage cable.
