Dear Ms. Keeton:
I reviewed the installation of the pole sign installed 6-12-2019 at
the subject project regarding final approvals. Structural design criteria
includes: building code is 2015 International Building Code (IBRO) as amended
by the local building jurisdiction; snow load of 30 psf; V -Ultimate wind
speed is 100 mph, exposure C; seismic zone B.
The 9' tall by 5' wide sign is supported by a 12.75" Schedule 40 steel
pipe for the first 15' alaoetueLrt4Otnd and an 8.625" Schedule 40 steel pipe
for the top 19' above groygftfie 12.75' pipe is cast full depth into a 36"
diameter by 11'-0" concre®ftj jr�j9 the ground. The amount of concrete for
that hole in an ideal wor��F* t 36" diameter hole dug in the dirt minus
the pipe diameter) wouldB�a g or 2.56 cy. I reviewed the material
tickets for the concretelfoV on. 3 cy was placed into the hole. I
attest that the proper amount of concrete was installed and the sign post
as designed was properly installed and will resist the maximum design loads
imposed.
I also reviewed the soil type for the area. The plans for the sign
base, prepared by Elrod Engineering, their job no. 100z3409, dated 4/26/2019,
specified soil with a lateral bearing pressure of 100 psf/ft of depth.
According to a Soils map prepared by the Colorado Geologic Survey, dated
1973-1974, which is the newest available, the site has Sand or Silt. This
corresponds to an SM soil type, which has a lateral bearing pressure of 150
psf/ft of depth according to the 2015 IBC, Table 1806.2. It is my
professional opinion that the soil at the site meets or exceeds the
specifications in the plans.

Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) requires an approved inspection
prior to installation of ANY roof coverings and is require on the entire roof when spaced
or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding A/2-inch exists. Asphalt shingles are required to
be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield is
required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturera€ms installation
instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of
elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer's technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at
(project address) has been applied. in accordance with the installation instruction for

7:30-10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.
