The ends mfthe beam were supported bya4x4column. The load onthe column isPa= 540 14.83/2 = 4004 lbs. The 4x4column capacity is Pc= 3.5a x469= 5745 which is acceptable. Since the column adjacent to the garage isn't setting on the garage foundation, a second 4X4 column should be set on the garage foundation wall and the interior load bearing column through bolted to the 4x4 foundation column with (4) 5/8" dia. through bolts x 1D7O=428O>4OO4lbs which isacceptable. Bolt space et1'o.c. The garage foundation wall distributes the load out over 16' which only adds 250 plf to the foundation which is acceptable. The east column bears on the floor 2'-8' from the interior basement bearing wall and 10'-8" from the exterior basement wall, thus additional support must be provided under the floor in terms of /2( 1 W x 7 Y4" LVL beam @ 5'- O" bearing on the interior basement bearing wall 2'-8" from the upper floor 4x4 column and a second basement 4 x 4 column at the opposite end of the 5' LVL beam extending to a 16° x 16"@ 8" pad footing with (2) #4 x 14" rebar each way and a Simpson AB44 base connection with Y2" expansion bolt and Simpson AC4top connection.
