The following requirements are made under the 2003 Tntemationai Fire Code adopted
by the Fire Board of the Wheat Ridge Fire Ptotection Aistrict and the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
1. Heads shall have updated addresses on eacb uuit
2. All componerns bf the alarm shail be tested for 5na1 approval.
3. A complebe system test shaU he perforxned before a&nal test is scheduled with the
Fire District and the City of WheY Ridge.
4. For the owner of the building the requirements axe as follows:
• List of hazardous materials stored ar used at each tenant
* Sips on the front doors to each unit stating," THESE DOORS TO REMAIN
iTNI.OCKED WHII.E THE BUILDING IS OCCUPIED".
•Fire eactinguishers with a m'vrimwn rating af 2A40BC shall be in each unit
and ehecked every year by a certified company.
• Emergency exit lighting shall be provided in each exit way.
5. Battery back up shall be up-to-date with khe raonth and year of installation.
(Replace if over three yeax.)
6. Adc#resses shaU be placed on the electrical and gas meters that service eaeh
individual units.
7. The fire alarnn panel slaail have all the contact information inciuding appropriate
codes fox said system.
8. Pull stadon shall be cleaz at all times.

3. If this permit expirea, a new pesmit may be acquired for a fee of one-half the amount normally required, provided no

exceeded one (1) year. If changes have been or if suspension or aDandonment exceeds one (1) year, full feee shall
be paid for a new permit.

5. Contractor shall notify the Huilding Inspector twenty-four (24) hours in advance for all inspecCions and shall receive

Code adopted by the Fire Board of the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District
and the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
l. Demolition requirements are as follows:
• Any trash dumpster shall be greater than 20 feet from any
structure.
• Fire Lanes shall remain clear at all times of construction. For
debris or construction vehicles.
• All means of egress shall be protected through out the
demolition and construction.
• All electrical for any part of the fagade shall be deactivated
before work.
• A fire extinguisher with a minimum rating of 2A4013C shall be
within 20 feet of all demolition work.
• Lock out tags shall be utilized when removing electrical
components.
2. The required Knox Boxes shall be attached to structure upon
completion of the fagade. NOT'E: ACCESS TO TFE KNOX BOXES
SHAI,L BE MAINTAINED DURING CONSTRUCTION.
CONTACT TFE FIl2E DISTRICT TO HAVE TT-E BOXES
OPENED FOR MOVING.
3. Plans shall be submitted to the Fire District for the following:
• Fire alarm system and monitoring company. Requirements of a
system under the A.D.A. requirements.
• Contractors licenses for repair and installation.
4. A required fire eatinguisher with a minimwn rating of 2A-40BC shall
be within 10 feet of ail "HOT WORK" operations
5. All O.S.H.A. safety and Life Safety Codes shall be addressed through
out the construction process.
6. All tenants shall be advised that no displays shall be under the fagade
at any time of construction.
7. Fire department access shall be maintained at all times.
8. There shall be no storage of compressed gas cylinders under the
fagade at any time.
9. The rear exit door shall have a sign stating " EMERGENCY EXIT
DO NOT BLOCK" labeled on the outside of the rear door.
10.A11 storage through out the building shall be greater than 24 inches
from the ceiling.
