Here are my calculations for required venting based on attic space square footage and 1 /150 design. We used Lomanco Whirly Bird vents, so calculations are based on Lomanco requirements. Here are my calculations based on square footage converted to square inches: 2,373 sq. ft. - 210 sq. ft (patio roof area) 2,163 sq. ft. -375 so. ft. (overhang at eaves: 2.6'x 144.2 If) 1,788 sq. ft. - 80 sq. ft. (overhang at gables: 1.34' x 60 If) 1,708 sq. ft. - 400 sq. ft. (garage not insulated: 20' x 20') 1,308 sq. ft. attic floor space Lomanco ventilation guide shows (2) BIB -12 Whirly Bird vents required for 1500 sq. ft. attic space at 1/300. It recommends doubling if 1 /150 is required. We have installed (3) BIB -12 Whirly Bird vents, plus there are (4) 8" x 16" soffit vents (4 x 56" = 224 sq. in.) existing, and (1) 114" x 21" triangular gable end vent (114" x 21" = 2,394/2 = 1,197 x.4 = 478.8 sq. in.) existing. With the calculations provided, it appears the amount of ventilation exceeds the requirements needed for 1308 sq. ft. of attic space per Lomanco specs. We did use the Lomanco BIB -12 Whirly Bird Turbines. Please advise us as to what you are looking for.
