I got a quote from roofer of $5,000 just to pop roof up -
he advised removing furnace. Another heating contractor thought it was okay.
Please advise. (I will call you)

4. Furnace - Tom Thomas (my roommate) & Ed Harvac assisted (heating guy -
- recommended by a refenal list as excelient & reasonable).
5. Floor plan - now drawn to scale & enlarged.

My free-standing oak closet already moved over (and washer/dryer side by side
where prev. owners had theirs) takes up the whole space.

Dear Mrs. Wallace,
Per your request an inspection was performed at the above referenced address on January 13, 2003.
Your concerns were evidence of a possible fire in the past and combustion air for the furnace on the
main level.
Upon inspection of the property I noticed two joists above the furnace that show chazring from a
past fire that appear to have been repaired. The charring does not appear to be deep enough to
cause structural concerns at these joist locations. Cause and time frame of the fire is unknown in
city and fire district records.
Combustion air is provided to the main level furnace by way of louvered doors on the furnace
room, which is freely communicating with the remaining house.
Conclusion, there did not appear to be any structural or life safety issues evident at the time of the
inspection.
