I have analyzed/reviewed the attached plans and have determined that the roof mounted PV system is in compliance with the applicable sections of the following Codes as amended and adopted by the City of Wheat Ridge: 2012 International Building Code, IBC 2012 International Residential Code, IRC ASCE/SEI 7-10 Min. Design Loads for Buildings & Other Structures 2017 National Electrical Code Per 2012 IBC, the Roof Mounted PV system will be subject to the following design criteria: Design Wind Speed(V,,it) - 115mph 3sec gust, Ground Snow load(Pg) - 30psf, Exposure Category - C The PV System consist of PV modules, railing, and connection hardware. The existing structure will be adequate for supporting the additional PV dead load, snow and wind loads. The securement method of the PV system is to be flush mounted to the asphalt shingle roof with Sunpower Invisimount flashings/attachments. The flashings/attachments are the Sunmodo EZ Standoffs. The standoffs can be attached up to 72" apart and should be staggered, where possible, to allow distribution of the design loads evenly to the structure. The standoffs shall be installed with a min. 5/16" lag screw with minimum 2-5/16" thread length. Please note that only a portion of the roof structure was reviewed. The engineer of responsible charge shall not be responsible for any existing flaws and/or defects that may currently exist or may be caused by the proposed installation.
