1. Regulations
CLEARING ABATEMENT PROJECTS
This subsection III.P. applies to asbestos abatement projects in mew of public access, other thou school buildings, where
the amount of asbestos -containing material that will be abated exceeds the bigger levels. For clearance requirements in
school buildings, see paragraph IV.G.9. (Completion of Response Actions). The GAC, certified Air Monitoring Specialist,
and the building owner shall ensure that all abatement projects are completed as described below. All air monitoring and
final visual inspections required under this regulation shall be performed by certified Air Monitoring Specialists
independent of the GAC to avoid possible conflict of interest.
Final Visual Inspection
At the conclusion of any abatement action and with only critical barriers still in place, a certified Air Monitoring
Specialist, who is independent of the GAC, shall visually inspect each work area where such action was conducted, and
behind the critical barriers, to delemtine whether all dust and debris has been removed. If any such dust or debris is found,
the area shall be re -cleaned until no dust or debris is found. If a critical barrier is removed for cleaning purposes, the area
behind the critical barrier shall he cleaned and the critical barrier immediately replaced.
Final Clearance Air Monitoring and Sample Analyses
HLP.3.a. Sample Collection III.P.3.a.(i). Once the area has passed a final visual inspection and no dust or debris has been
found, the certified Air Monitoring Specialist shall collect air samples using aggressive sampling as described in 40
C.F.R. Part 763, Appendix A to Subpart E (EPA 1995), to monitor air for elegance after each abatement project except
that fans and leaf blowers shall not be directed toward any known £noble ACM remaining in the work area.
Clearance Criteria
The laboratory may analyze ah monitoring samples collected for clearance purposes by PCM to confirm completion of
removal, encapsulation, or enclosure of ACM. The action shall be considered complete when the results of samples
collected in the abatement work area and analyzed by PCM using the NIOSH Method 7400 entitled "Fibers" published in
the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods, 3rd Edition, Second Supplement, August 1987, show that the concentration of
fibers for each of the five samples is less than or equal to a limit of quantification for PCM (0.01 fibers per cubic
centimeter, 0.01 f/cm3 , 10,000 Fm3 ). The analyst doing said analysis shall be NIOSH 582 or 582E trained.

III.U.2or PCM If PCM is used as the method of analysis the standard is 0.01 fibers per cubic centimeter of air (f/cc),
which is equivalent to 10,000 fibers per cubic meter of air (f/m3 ). The NIOSH 7400 Method entitled "Fibers" published
in the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods, 3rd Edition, Second Supplement, August 1987, shall he used to analyze
samples. The number of samples to be taken shall he determined by the certified Air Monitoring Specialist.

2. Introduction
On September 10, 2021, Elevation Environmental conducted an Asbestos Abatement Air Clearances at 7000 W
32nd Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO. Clearance was performed on abatement of asbestos containing wall texture and
plaster. Abatement was performed by D&K Works.
3. Visual Inspection
A visual inspection was conducted by wearing black nitrile gloves and touching all work and adjacent surfaces
* look for any dust or debris left behind. Critical barriers were inspected to make sure they were in place and
no dust or debris had passed through.
4. Final Clearance Air Monitoring
Aggressive sampling was perforated using fans and leaf blowers prior to setting up the samples in the breathing
zone.
Five pumps were set in the work area and allowed to equilibrate. The pumps were calibrated and PCM
cassettes were attached on stands to each.
The pumps were allowed to sample until 1199 L of Air were collected. The pumps were then recalibrated and
the average of the two calibrations was used to calculate the volume of air passed through each cassette.

Samples were submitted to Reservoirs Environmental which is a NIST approved lab for PCM and TEM
analysis.

6. Conclusions and Recommendations
The work areas/containments met the standards set forth by CDPHE Regulation 8. Therefore, the area is
cleared for the purposes intended.

1. This permit was issued based on the information provided in the permit application and accompanying plans and specifications and is
subject to the compliance with those documents, and all applicable statutes, ordinances, regulations, policies and procedures.
2. This permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must be made in writing and
received prior to the date of expiration. An extension of no more than 180 days made be granted at the discretion of the Chief Building
Official and may be subject to a fee equal to one-half of the originalpermit fee.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit may be required to be obtained. Issuance of a new permit shall be subject to the standard
requirements, fees androcedures for approval of any new permit. Re -issuance or extension of expired permits is at the sole discretion of
the Chief Building Official and is not guaranteed.
