**For trenchless sewer replacements - The contractor will verify proper slope of new sewer
piping in conformance with the IRC and IPC of 1/4 inch per foot unless otherwise allowed
specifically by the applicable code. The plumbing contractor will provide verification of
proper slope and drainage in writing as a condition of approval of the permitted work.**

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is to address the concerns that the building department has concerning the
installation of the concrete piers supporting the new deck at the residence located at
31 Range View Drive in Wheat Ridge, CO. See Photo # 1
The originally specified piers were to be S" diameter X 3' 0" deep. The Wheat Ridge
Building Dept. inspected and approved this installafion. See Photo # 2. However, some
of the piers were miss aligned. The contractor solved the problem by removing the top
12" from the existing concrete pier and installing additional rebar and re-poring a new
concrete cap piece 12" in Diameter. See Photos # 3& 4.
This modification allows for the pmper installation of the Simpson Column Base used
and provides the appmpriate structure to support this deck. The deck and the concrete
pier base anchors have been inspected by this office and meet the required criteria as set
forth by the Wheat Ridge Building Dept. and this office.

Attached is a description of the work we performed after the initial inspection. Basically, as described in
the attached drawings, we were concemed about the structural integrity of the existing caissons by
attaching the mounting brackets so close to the edges as instructed by the building inspector. Most
importantly we did not move the caissons.
I will not be able to attain an engineer's letter for the improvement. However, as noted above, as we did
not move the caissons and can assure that the mounting btackets have been placed on top of main
sections of caissons I am requesting approval of the improvement as is.
In addition, we have a written wananty in all of our advertising and on all of our contracts for our work.

What should I do before my garden shed arrives?
Before you receive your garden shed, clear the construction area. Remove all debris; roots, grass, rocks, etc. Make sure the ground slopes away from the site at least 10 feet in all directions. If necessary, build up the
soil in the center of the site and slope away for the high point to provide drainage. Fill in any low spots within
the perimeter of the site. A slope of 1/8 inch per foot is enough to prevent water accumulation.
We recommend excavating the site 4 inches deep and laying gravel or crushed rock where drainage may be a concern.
What type of foundation should I use?
Patio Stone Foundation: If the ground is stable and has sufficient drainage; you can set patio stones directly
on firm compacted soil. If not, lay on gravel or crushed rock.
Starting with one floor section, position stones around its perimeter and 'specific joists. (For details, see specific
instruction manual) Use a 2x4 straight piece of lumber on edge and a carpenter's level to position correctly. Add or
remove soil/sand under each stone until level. CompleteYemaining floof 'sections irt the same manner. When all floor
panels are level with each other, flip over, screw4ogetheP and place back on level.foundation. -4x4 Piessure Treated Beam Foundation: You can build directly on pressure-treated beams or railroad ties laid '
on a properly prepared construction site. Run beams perpendicular to floor joists. Use`a 2z4 straight piece ofiumber on
edge and a carpenter's level to position correctly.To prevent the beams from shiftmg; secure lhem with P inch rebar
inserted through holes drilled in the beams and driven 3 to:4feet into the ground. Leave each side or end of the
