I have reviewed the plan submittal for the tenant finish being conducted on Units #]Ol
103, at 5181 Ward Road and 5191 Ward Road, Unit # 4. The Fairmount Fire Protection
District will be the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) on this project. The plans submitted
have been reviewed using the 2003 Intemational Fire Code, NFPA, and other nationally
recognized standards.
The following requirements shall be met prior to final inspection from the fire department:
1. Illuminated exit signs, with an emergency power supply shall be installed.
2. Illuminated emergency lighting, with an emergency power supply shall be installed.
3. A minimum of two (2) fire extinguishers shall be provided, with a minimum rating
of 2A-lOBC. The distance between fire extinguishers shall not exceed 75 feet.
4. A"THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS" shall
be permanently installed above the exit(s).
5. Permanent address and unit identification shall be in place. These numbers/letters
shall be a minimum of 5" in height with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch and
contrast with their background.
6. Electricai, mechanical, boiler rooms, and fire protection equipment rooms shall be
permanently identified.
7. Modifications to the current Fire Alazm system must insure that changes reflect
current ADA requirements.
8. A key box shall be installed in an approved location. A master key shall be provided
to the fire department at final inspection to be placed in this secured key box.
9. If the occupancy has a Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression system, sepazate permits aze
required. These permits must be obtained from the fire department, as well as
through the city building department.

Please note that final inspections aze required to be requested a minimum of 48 hours in
advance, at (303) 279-2928, ext. 103. It is the responsibility of all sub-contractors to
coordinate schedules and inspections with the fue department. I look forwazd to working with
