Dale Maple, a Colorado registered structutal enginear, reviewed the damaged property
this aftemoon to determine if any emergency shoring woutd be necessary. He found that
the strvcture to be intact and there was nathing to shore. He said the damage was
confined to the architeclural curtain wall elemenis on the wall.
I will visit the property myseff on Friday too further analyze the situation and assist the
property owners in repairing the bufiding_
Based on what 1 understand from Mr. Maple, the building is safe to occupy from a
structural standpoint

when compared to Schedule-40. It has hydraulic
characteristics comparable to some lightwall threadable
products. Even though Dyna-Thread-40 has a thicker
wall than lightwall threadables, its full size standard OD
gives it a large inside diameter.
• The most widely accepted alternate, where
Schedule-40 piping is spec'rfied.
• Same calculated wall thickness at the base of the
first exposed thread as Schedule-40.
• Same CRR as Schedule-40 pipe.

Dear John,
After a review of the new proposed building plans for Big
Apple Bagels, I am submitting the following comments/requirements
concerning this proposed occupancy:
1. Contractor must provide complete set of revised fire
protection sprinkler system plans before working on or
revising the system.Fire sprinkler system must be in
compliance with NFPA-13. This includes monitoring by an
outside agency. There will have to be a horn and light strobe
installed in the front area of the store for notification of
water flow.
2. Contractor or Big Apple Bagel needs to supply information
regarding cooking operations. May be a need for Hood & Duct
system.
3. Provide 1--5 pound BC Fire extinguisher for the cooking
area. 2 addition 5 pound ABC Fire Extinguishers will be needed
and located prior to opening of store.
4. Provide visible address on front of store.
5. Big Apple Bagel must provide a master key for their unit at
time of TCO/CO to be placed in the Knox-Box. Key must be on a
ring and have identifying tag attached.
