The membrane is green and black on the exterior surface and white on the underside. 3.2 WrapshieldTM: WrapshieldTM is a spun bonded, nonperforated. polypropylene material with a nominal thickness of 0.023 inch (0.58 mm) and a basis weight of 5.01 ounces per square yard (170 g /m'). The material is available in rolls. The membrane is orange - brown on the exterior surface and white on the unexposed surface. 4.0 INSTALLATION WallshieldT"' and WrapshieldTM is installed after wall framing is completed and before windows and doors are installed. The roll is placed a minimum of 6 inches (152 mm) from the starting corner, unrolled around the building and fastened to the sheathing with either minimum No. 12 gage (0.019 -inch- diameter shank (0.48 mm)] corrosion- resistant or stainless steel nails having minimum' / inch - diameter (9.5 mm) heads, or minimum No. 14 (0.083- inch - diameter shank (2.1 mm)] corrosion- resistant or stainless steel nails having 1 -inch- diameter (25.4 mm) caps, or minimum No. 16 gage stainless steel staples with minimum 1 -inch (25.4 mm) crowns, spaced at a maximum of 24 inches (610 mm) on center, and is unrolled around the building and fastened with nails or staples spaced at a maximum of 24 inches (610 mm) on center along the top and bottom. The colored side must be installed facing the outside. Where the seams are not to be taped, the vertical seams must be overlapped a minimum of 12 inches (305 mm) and the horizontal seams must be overlapped a minimum of 6 inches (152 mm). Where the seams are to be taped, a minimum overlap of 6 inches (152 mm) must be provided for both vertical and horizontal seams. The type of tape used must be as set forth in the manufacturer's published installation instructions. When use is over wood -based sheathing in exterior plaster applications, two layers of product must be applied over sheathing in accordance with IBC Section 2510.6 or IRC Section R703.6 3, as applicable. For cementitious coatings or exterior insulation and finish systems, application must be in accordance with the evaluation report on the exterior coating. The manufacturer's published installation instructions and this report must be strictly adhered to.
