Deaz Ms. Jacobson, This letter is to inform you of a recent conversation with Mr. Swedlund, regazding the proposal of a Native American ceremonial sweat lodge and fire pit to be located on your property. Mr. Swedlund has informed the Planning Department and the Fire Department of his intentions with this structure and has assured us that the utmost precautions would be administered during the use of the lodge and fire pit. Mr. Swedlund has assured us that there will not be any religious drugs used during these ceremonies and that a water hose will be present during the ignition and buming of the fire pit. He has spoken with the Chief Building Official, John Eckert, and was asked to move the structure to have at least a 10' side yard setback. As long as Mr. Swedlund understands that no drugs and or alcohol may be present during the ceremonies, and as long as on-site pazking is available, the Wheat Ridge Planning Department approves of this proposed use.
