PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Polyflex° SA Base is a premium, self -adhered base ply roofing membrane. Polyflex SA Base
is specifically designed to be used as a base sheet for heat welded roofing assemblies.
Polyflex SA Base is constructed with a black mineral surfaced APP weathering compound,
uniquely formulated to provide for exceptional bonding to heat welded interply or cap
Sheets. The membrane is reinforced with a high performance fiberglass mat. Polyflex SA
Base is manufactured using patent pending ADESO Dual -Compound Self -Adhesive
technology providing for an aggressive self-adhesive compound on the bottom layer.
Polyflex SA Base has a split release film for ease and safe application to approved substrates.
Polyflex SA Base is packaged in a patented EasyBox that facilitates easy handling of
the rolls, each roll provides for approximately 200 square feet of coverage and weighs
approximately 70 pounds.

POLYFLEXuRSA BASE
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Polyflex SA Base is intended to be used as a base sheet for new or re -roof applications when applied to acceptable insulations
and/or coverboards for commercial and residential structures. Polyflex SA Base is not recommended for direct adhesion to
plywood sheathing on low -sloped roofs, however, it may be applied directly to approved wood deck substrates of non -
occupied spaces such as carports, sheds, canopies, etc.
• Apply only when the weather and forecast is dry and the ambient air temperature and substrate is 40°F (5°C)
and rising.
• Apply over clean, dry, dust and debris free substrates. Prime concrete decks prior to application with PG 100
Asphalt Primer.
• When re -roofing, remove all prior roofing materials down to a clean debris free substrate and properly close off
all abandoned roof penetrations.
• Concrete or Steel decks shall be designed with proper expansion devices.
• Wood decks shall be properly supported by the structural framing.
• Ensure the installation of Polyflex SA Base does not prevent the ventilation of existing construction
• Do not apply over shingles or other granulated surface.
• While installing Polyflex SA Base:
1. Start at the low point of the roof.
2. Unroll the material and allow to relax.
3. Start by removing the first 18-24" of release film.
4. Press the membrane into place with firm and even pressure. Roll the edges with a silicone hand roller to ensure
complete adhesion.
5. Gradually remove the remaining release film applying pressure from the center to the edges as you go.
6. Position successive rolls providing a minimum 6" end lap and 4" side lap. Laps can be sealed for additional
water tightness with a hot air welder.
7. Roll with an 80# split -face linoleum roller. Take care on sloped roofs by securing the roller and applicator with
the appropriate safety equipment.
• End laps, T -joints, details and flashing may be installed using Polyflex SA Base with a hot air welder or with PG 500 or
Polyplus 50 modified products.
Check project details for proper installation requirements.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Elastoflex SA P FR membranes are premium, self -adhered elastomeric roofing products with
a fire retardant additive, manufactured using patented ADESO° Dual -Compound
Self -Adhesive technology, whereby a "true" SBS polymer modified asphalt compound
is applied on the top layer and an aggressive self-adhesive compound is applied on
the bottom layer. Elastoflex SA P FR membranes are built with a high performance
reinforced polyester mat to ensure excellent dimensional stability.
Elastoflex SA P FR membranes are finished with granules on the top surface and features
patented FASTLap® as well as SEALLap®, a factory applied adhesive treatment at the
membrane overlap. Each of these patented features provide for greater ease of
application as well as improved product performance.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Elastoflex SA P FR is intended to be used as a cap sheet for new or re -roof applications as part of a multi -ply system when applied
to acceptable insulations and/or coverboards for commercial and residential structures. Elastoflex SA P FR may also be applied
directly to approved wood deck substrates of non -occupied spaces such as carports, sheds, canopies, etc.
• Apply only when the weather and forecast is dry and the ambient air temperature and substrate is 40°F (5°C)
and rising.
• Apply over clean, dry, dust and debris -free substrates. Prime concrete decks prior to application with PG 100

• While installing Elastoflex SA P FR:

2. Unroll the material and allow to relax.
3. Start by removing the first 18-24" of release film.

required for both the midroof and final inspections. The 3rd party inspection report AND
THE ORIGINAL PERMIT CARD needs to be dropped off to the Permit Desk at the City of Wheat

REGARDING ROOF VENTILATION: Roof ventilation shall comply with IBC Sec. 1203.2 or IRC Sec.
R806. The installation of ridge venting requires the installation or existence of soffit
venting. For calculation purposes, one hat or turtle vent equal to one-half of one square
foot of opening.
Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof
covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.
