Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved mi.droof.
.inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) requires an approved inspection
prior to installation of ANY roof coverings and is require on the entire roof when spaced
or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding A3�-inch exists. Asphalt shingles are required to
be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield is
required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturera€'"s installation
instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of
elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer's technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at
(project address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for

This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR PERMIT
IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE AND TIME

Homeowners wishing to obtain a roofing permit must apply for the permit in person
at City Hall. Revisions to existing permits (for example, to add redecking) must be
completed in person at City Hall. All other non -roofing permits must be completed in
person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

1. By signing this Agreement, you authorize Incline Roofing to be present during the insurance adjustment and negotiate the settlement with your insurance company.
2. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, your out-of-pocket costs will be limited to your insurance deductible amount. However, you must promptly pay Inline Roofing.

I have completed my initial review of the submitted building permit application for a detached
garage at the property located at 3813 Wright Street, and I have the following comments:
The application details a 986 square foot detached gazage to be constructed. The subject
property is zoned Residential One-A (R-lA). The R-lA zone district allows a maximum lot
coverage of thirty percent. The Jefferson County Assessor's office details the lot size at 11,631
squaze feet. Based on this lot size, a maximum of 3,489 squaze feet of the lot may be occupied
by structures. Further, the Assessor lists the total current improvements on the property at 2,594
square feet (1,717 square foot house footprint, 264 square foot porch, 96 square foot shed and
517 square foot attached garage).
The new 986 square foot garage will increase the total lot coverage to 3,580 squaze feet, 91
square feet above the allowed masimum lot coverage. You have a few options for correcting
this situation: reduce the garage size by 91 square feet or applying for a lot coverage variance.
Additionally, if you fee] the figures given by the County Assessor are incorrect, you may
provide evidence to support that fact.
The variance can be reviewed administratively (without a public hearing), due to the fact that
the request would be less than ten percent of the standazd. A land use application, survey or
improvement location certificate and fee of $380 would be necessary to process the variance
request.
