Midroof & Final Roof inspections for ROOFS 6/12 PITCH & OVER: 3rd party inspection will be
required for both the midroof and final inspections. The 3rd party inspection report AND
THE ORIGINAL PERMIT CARD needs to be dropped off to the Permit Desk at the City of Wheat
Ridge. The report MUST BE SIGNED by the Homeowner.
REGARDING ROOF VENTILATION: Roof ventilation shall comply with IBC Sec. 1203.2 or IRC Sec.
R806. The installation of ridge venting requires the installation or existence of soffit
venting. For calculation purposes, one hat or turtle vent equal to one-half of one square
foot of opening.
Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof
covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.

This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process

person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

Specifically, the grass lined drainage swale as defined in the
approved construction plans, has not been constructed and apgroved
as of this date. It is my understanding that this work is to be
completed prior to issuance of the certificate of occupancy per the
stipulations from the meeting of July 27, 1993 between yourself,

Dear Bob,
On August 24, 1992 at 4:39 P.M., the Wheat Ridge Fire
Department responded to a residential fire alarm at 11115 W. 38
Ave. Upon arrival of the first responding fire truck, the were
unable to access the residence with the equipment due to adverse
weather conditions regarding the road way. Due to the heavy rains,
the access road failed under the weight of the truck and it sank in
the mud up to the front axle. Access to the residence was
accomplished on foot and fortunately the problem was minor in
nature and easily taken care of.
However, due to the condition of the road way, a Hazard Notice
is being issued directing the correction of the road way access,
creating an all weather road as required by the Uniform Fire Code,
1988 edition, adopted by the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District
and the City of Wheat Ridge. Specific Sections cited as violation
are: Article 10, Division 2, Section 10.207(f), Surface, which
states, " Fire apparatus access roads shall be designed and
maintained to support the imposed loads of fire apparatus and shall
be provided with a surface so as to provide all-weather driving
capabilities." and Article 10, Division 3, Section 10.301(e),
Timing of installation, which states: " When fire protection
facilities are to be installed by the developer, such facilities
including all surface access roads shall be installed and made
serviceable prior to and during the time of construction. When
alternative methods of protection, as approved by the Chief, are
provided, the above may be modified or waived."
It is my understanding, after my conversation with you on this
dated, that there is a current contract in place with a paving
company to pave the access way in question as soon as possible,
weather permitting. It is my desire to work with this situation and
to have the correction in place also as soon as possible. The
ordered correction time specified on the Hazard Notice is for
completion of the access road way within 20 days from August 24,
1992. Be advised that before construction can continue, all-weather
access roads must be in place. I believe this will be accomplished
when the pavers are able to install the asphalt.

I have reviewed the hydraulic capacity of an open swale
proposed beneath a cantilevered driveway deck on Lot 11
of APPLEWOOD VILLAGE ESTATES. The swale is to be on an
0.8% grade; is to have a lining of 2-inch washed rock;
and is to be of the minimum dimensions showing on the
attached plan.
Depth of flow in the swale during peak runoff from a
major storm will be less than 9 inches. Bank-full
swale capacity wili be approximately 62.8 c.f.s., which
is much greater than 28.7 c.f.s. total channel demand.

Attached are plans & calculations which you mentioned that you
don't have for the above referenced drive way slab.
Secondly, this letter shall act a certifications that the
reinforcing steel is in its proper place in the stem wall and
that the concrete is to its proper depth in the stem wall w/o
soil being mixed in with the concrete. The only variation from
the attached plan is that the wall is wider due to the bottom
of the forms blowing out with an additional 3 yards of concrete
being poured in the wall. I was on the site at the time of
the pour.

The City will:
a. obtain, deliver and plarrt a tree speciflcally selected for street suitability.
b. fumish technical advice to homeowners as needed.
c. piarrt ihe tree in accordance with the citys tree master pian, and space wmpatibty with surrounding area.
d. replace the trees at its option, for one growing season, it loss is deemed by the City Forester, to be
unavoidable.
e. will assist in maiMenance of the tree(s) tor lhree years.

a. agree to pay the City representative at the time this agreement is signed, the amount shown for each
species.
b. with the assistance of the City Forester, or his assigned crews, choose a compatible location for the

d. release and hold harmiess the City for any damage arising out of the plarrting, existence and tuture
