This Section includes the following: 1. Steelsectional overhead doors. 1.3 SUBMITTALS A. Submit shop drawings, color chart and product data for each product specified. Include elevations of doors; fabricarion details; installation details; electrical characteristics and requirements; and certificarion of compliance with a11 standards, codes and regulations. 1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Provide overhead doors that aze capable of withstanding frequent operations, normal physical abuse and applicable wind loads. Doors and operators shall be designed to operate for a mimmum of 10,000 cycles. Design doors to withstand a wind load of 201bs. per square foot, in an inwazd and outwazd direction, or as otherwise applicable to the site location of this project. B. Provide door panels with overall sizes and types shown on the Drawings. Provide door panels of not less than 26 gauge steel on both sides of panel, with ribbed or fluted profile. Panels shall be 24" in height and 2" thick with rabbeted or tongue-and-grooved top and bottom edges to provide weathertight seal between panels. Reinforce bottom section wdh a continuous angle or channel and provide bottom weatherstrip. C. Provide complete track assembly including attachment brackets for ngid support. B. Provide heavy duty steel ball-bearing rollers, hinges behveen panels, weatherstripping, slide locking bolts, spring counterbalance mechanism, and electrical door operator. C. Provide electrical door operator of size for door and cycles indicated, complete with motor, starter, geaz-reduction unit, clutch, brake, trolley draw baz or jack shaft, controls and disconnect. Each door shall have a 3 button control station with open, close and stop positions. Control in closed position shall lcek door. Mount tracks plumb with jamb, tapered to allow tight seal when closed, and securely welded or bolted to building jambs and roof structure per details. Support and braced track as required to provide strength and rigidity without sag, sway or vibration durmg door operations. B. Hang door panels straight and level, fitting in the opening with proper clearances at head and jambs, allowing smooth opening and closing. Site: 1. Tha address will need to be posted on a temporary basis and permanently affixed to the building in a minimum of 4 inch numbers. UFC 91 10.301(a). 2. All-weather fire department access roadways, minimum of 20 feet of unobstructed width, capable of supporting the imposad loads of fire apparatus need to be provided within 150 feet of all portions of the building prior to above grade construction. UFC 91 10.203 10.204(a),(b). 3. Fire lanes will need to be posted "No Parking Fire Lane" with signs that meet City of Wheat Ridge Standards. UFC 91 10.206. 2. Water Supply: 1. The underground fire line will need to be approved by the Valley Water District and the Denver Water Board. The Fire Marshal's Office will witness the two hour hydro- static test. The sprinkler demand may require a larger line. 2. We would request that an additional fire hydrant ba provided at the Sonth East Corner of the drive way to the loading dock. At the present time no fire hydrants would be available for East side fire suppression operations. If the tanks are to ba open without a building this hydrant would be needed for exposure protection of the tanks. LTFC 91 10.501(a). 3. Construction of Occupancy Separations: Page Two 1. It appears that door number 155 needs to be a 60 minute rated assembly. UFC 91 10.602(a). 2. One hour and one and one half hour doors will need to be labeled "Fire Door po Not Obstruct in a minimum of 1 inch letters on a contrasting background. LTFC 91 10.602(c). 4. Exits: 1. The main exit door if provided with a key locking device will need to be provided with a sign stating, "This Door Is To Remain Unlocked During Business Hours. UFC 91 12.106(c). 2. Exit doors in the classroom or Group A-3 area will need to be provided with panic hardware. No other lock or latch may be installed. UFC 91 25.106(b). 3. All other exit doors will need to be openable from the inside without the use of key or special knowledge. iTFC 91 12.106(c). 4. The exit signs at doors 120 B and 154 need to be changed to the warehouse side of the door as exits are not permitted by the Building Code to pass through storage rooms. This will nead to be verified by the Buildine UFC 91 12.101. 5. Additional exit signs may be needed at new exit door in the classroom area and add exit sign at door 130 A. UFC 12.111(b) 6. Sprinkler systems will need to be provided with approved back flow prevention in accordance with Valley Water District Standards. Double check for wet systems without chemicals and Reduced Pressure for sYstems with chemicals. 3. Plans will need to include a floor plan, location of all initiating and signaling devices, control and trouble signaline equipment, annunciation, p°e connections. battery calculations, wiring type and sizes. The manual pull station within the storage room will need to meet the requiraments for use in a Class I Division 1 area in accordance with the Electrical Code. Add pull station at door 156. 4. Fire alarm siBnals will be subiect to field inspection. Additional units may be required. UFC 91 14.103(d). 5. The permittee will need to provide written certification to the Fire Marshal's Office that the system has been installed in accordance with approved plans and specifications. UFC 91 14.103(e). 6. A satisfactory test of the entire system will need to be conducted in the presence of the Fire Marshal's Office. UFC 91 14.103(d). Page Five 8. Liquid Storage Room Comments: 1. Has the drainage sYstem been sized in accordance with the Fire Code? 2. The ventilation system for this room will need to meet the following requirements. UEC 91 80.301(m). 1. The installation will need to be in accordance with the Mechanical Code. 2. Mechanical ventilation will need to be at a rate of not less than 1 cubic foot per minute per square foot of floor area over the storage area. 3. Systems will need to operate continuously. 4. A manual shutoff control will need to be provided outside the room adiacent to the access door into the room or location apProved by the Fire Marshal. The switch will need to be of a break glass type and will need to be labeled " Ventilation System Emergency Shutdown". 5. The exhaust system will need to be arranged to consider the density of the potential fumes or vapors raleased. For fumes and vapors that are heavier than air, exhaust will nead to be taken within 12 inches of the floor. 6. The location of both exhaust and inlet air openings will need to be arranged to provide air movement across all portions of the floor and room to prevent the accvmulation of vapors. 7. Exhaust ventilation cannot be recirculated with in the room or building if the materials stored are capable of emitting hazardous vapors. 9.
