When you told me that you had finished the job, I asked that some of the workmanship be corrected. This has not been done. To me a number of things need to be corrected. (1) The valley's on the roof are in various stages of completion. Or at least they have different appearances. (2) Some of the roofing is loose from the base. and standing up so that if a wind came along they would be blown off. (3) In looking over the roof, nail heads can be seen between the tiles. (4) When the roofing was being installed, boards were nailed to the roof. The holes made by this action have not been sealed. (5) The alignment of the roofing, seems to go in all directions. Not very professional looking. I was assured that your company was experienced in doing this type of work. (6) The clean-Up is not completed. The fence in the back that you took down, needs to be put back up. (7) The roof shingles are miss stapled. Unless the staples are put in parallel, the manufacture will not stand behind their warranty. (8) The felt underlayment should extend 1" past the wood. If you will look closer, you will see that you are noticing the reflection of the asphalt glue strip through the drip cuts on the shingles. 4) These holes have been sealed. If any of them show any evidence of leakage, we will repair. 5) Although the shingle alignment on the roof is by no means perfect, it in no way lessens the protection provided by those shingles. The original construction of the roof and the necessity to install shingles in sections because of the length of the roof have complicated as regular an alignment as would apply to a smaller project. Your insistence that we complete this project more quickly was indeed a factor also. If you still question the competency of this material, please let me know. For your information the cost of 7/16" osb(wafer board) is $9.61 per sheet (Alpine Lumber). Our cost for 1/2" CDX plywood is $8.64 per sheet (Hugh M Woods). I am enclosing a copy of the correction slip provided by the City of Wheat Ridge. These are the items that will be redone. There are many other items listed in your letter, we will consider you suggestion of having these items and any other revisions or changes provided by a different contractor of you choice.
