Box 507 3880 Upham Street Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80034 (303) 424-7323 December 13, 1995 To: John Eckert Chief Building Official City of Wheat Ridge Wheat Ridge Co. 80033 Subject: Building comment review for Lakeside/Wheat Ridge Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7891 W. 44 Ave. Dear John, After conducting a plan review for this project, I am submitting the following comment/requirements: 1. Design of the entry way is not sufficient in width to accommodate the turn radius of the fire trucks without extending into the catch curb. The width of the entry needs to be enlarged to accommodate emergency equipment. 2. The building does not meet the Uniform Fire Code, 1991 edition, requirements for access under Article 10, Fire Protection, Division II, Fire Apparatus Access Roads, Required Access, Section 10.203. A complete fire sprinkler system is required or a re-design of the building in order to meet this requirement. 3. Complete plans for the fire alarm system must be submitted and approved prior to installation. System must be monitored by an outside agency at time of final test. 4. Exit lights, emergency lights, and fire alarm system need to be supplied by the emergency power panel, with emergency back up in the event of normal power loss. 5. Duct detectors for the HVAC Units must be tied into fire alarm panel and on separate zones for identification purposes. 6. The new address must be visible for emergency equipment to identify. There may be additional items unforeseen at this time that will be addressed as the need arises. The contractor/developer is encouraged and welcome contact this office regarding the above listed items and any additional concerns on his/her behalf. Please contact 424-7323 for an appointment regarding this matter. ~~-c Dave Roberts Eire Marshal Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT BUILDING INSPECTION DIVISION - 235-2855 CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE 7500 WEST 29TH AVENUE WHEAT RIDGE, CO 80215 Property Owner : k4ke.,d~" Property Address Contractor License No. Company v/:rel0\41Gs Building Permit Number : Date : Phone : 0j' I/C)o (Pc46 %b'9% 1,J. Heat detectors are available in 135OF and 200OF temperature ratings. Rate-of-rise detects heat by quickiy responding to rapid temperature in- crease. Rate-of-rise units have wide spacing allowance of 50-foot centers. See Specification Table for details. The pneumatic rate-of-rise element responds to a rapid rise in temperature, approximately 150F. Our Code-3 horn and tone pattems are engineered to comply with NFPA/ANSI Temporal Pattern specifications without requiring addiiional coding means. With MT and MT Strobe Signals, one alarm appliance meels most of your signaling needs. The MT Strobes are designed for ADA applications with maximum performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness while meeting or exceeding the latest requirements of NFPA 72 (the National Fire Alarm Code), ANSI 717.1 (the American National Standard For Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities) and UL Standard 1971 (Standard for Signaling Devices for the Hearing Impaired). MT strobes, when properly specified and installed in accordance wi[h NFPA/ANSI Standards, can provide the Equivalent Facilitation allowed under ADA Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG General Section 22) by meeting or exceeding the illumination which results from the ADA specified strobe intensity of 75 candela at 50 feet. This is an illumination of 0.030 lumens per square foot (footrandles). Each MT and MT Strobe appliance has lwo user selective sound output levels: STANDARD dBA and HIGH dBA. The MT/MT 4 pro- vides dual voltage capability in one unit,l2VDC or 24VDC operation, filtered or FWR. The MT Strobe EleCtronic Signals operate with either 12VDC or 24VDC and may be used with filtered or unfiltered (full-wave-rectified) input voltages. Separate input terminals are available, shunt wires are provided to enable both tone and strobe to operate simultaneously from a single input. The Multitone Strobe Signals are UL Listed for indoor use, ceiling and wall mount, under Standard 1971 for Signaling Devices for the Hearing Impaired and Standard 464 for Audible Signal Appliances, and use a Xenon flashtube with solid state circuitry enclosed in a rugged Lexan* lens to provide maximum reliability for effective vis- ible signaling. Options include LS, MS and IS Series which are Listed at 15, 30 and 75 candela intensity to cover 20' X 20', 30' X 30' and 40' X 40' rooms, respectively. The LSM Series 15/75 candela wall mounted strobes were tested at UL for 75cd on axis, and are Listed at 15 candela under UL 1971 and meet 75 candela intensity on axis for ADA guidelines wilh low current draw. MT Series Signals have IN and OUT wiring lerminations that accept two #12 to #18 American Wire Gauge(AWG) wires at each ter- minal. Inputs are polarized for compatibility with standard reverse polarity type supervision. Multitone Strobe models can he flush mounted to a standard 4 inch square by 2-1/8 inch deep elecirical box (Figure A) or a standard 2-gang 6y 2-1/2 inch minimum deep electrical box (Figure B). 2. All models can also be surface mounted to Wheelock's model 108 backbox (Figure C or D) or to a 4' square backbox (model DBB or BB) with Wheelock's model ISP extender (Figure F and G). 3. Multitone Slro6e models can also be retrofitted to an existing FSB backbox to replace Wheelock's model 7007 Strobe Horn when used with Wheelock adaptor plate model RP (Figure E). 4. All MT (not MT4) models are supplied with four snap-in covers to hide the mounting holes and provide an attractive installation. The snap-in covers are interchangeable and have slols on each end so they can be removed if necessary (by prying them up with a thin blade screwdriver). To insert snap-in cover, slide the outside edge of the cover (furthest edge from the strobe lens) partially inlo the mounting hole recess; then align the cover so it is parallel to the grille (not [ilted) and snap cover into place. 5. The 108 surtace backboz has 1/2 inch conduit knockouts on two sides. It has a variety of knockouts on the back for mounting it to recessed electrical boxes and for wire entrances (Figure D). It can also be mounted to a surtace with the two mounting ears that are supplied. The ears slide into slots on the back of the box (Figure C). Use appropriate anchors for the wood screws that are supplied with the box (if necessary). 6. The 108 includes a prefasiened gasket and four hole plugs. Make sure the condensation drain holes on the 6ox face down and that the box is vertical to permit drainage of any moisture. Use the mounting ears to secure the box (do not use the back knockouts). Use the hole plugs to seal the unused mounting holes on the Multitone grille (press them in securely from the back side of the grille). Mount the unit to the IOB with the four #8-18 screws supplied with the box. 7. Mounting hardware for each mounting option is supplied. 8. Conduit entrances to the backbox should be selected to provide sufficient wiring clearance for the installed product. When extension rings are required, conduit should enter through the backbox, not the e#ension ring. Use Steel City #53151 (7-7/2' deep) or #53171 (2-1/8' deep) extension rings (as noted in the mounting options) or equal with the same cut-out area. 0 CAUTION: Check thai the installed product will have sufficient clearance and wiring raom prior lo inslalling back6oxes and canduit, especially if sheathed multiconductor ca61e or 3/4' conduit iittings are used. 9. Do not pass additional wires (used for other fhan the signaling device) through the backbox. Such additional wires could result in insufficient wiring space for the signaling device. Box 507 3880 Upham Street Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80034 (303) 424-7323 March 19, 1996 To: John Eckert Chief Building Official City of Wheat Ridge Wheat Ridge Co. 80033 Subject: Building comment review for Lakeside/Wheat Ridge Kinqdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7891 W. 44 Ave. Dear John, After conducting a plan review for this project, I am submitting the following comment/requirements: 1. Design of the entry way has been modified in width to accommodate the turn radius of the fire trucks without extending into the catch curb. 2. The building now meets the requirements for access under Article 10, Fire Protection, Division II, Fire Apparatus Access Roads, Required Access, Section 10.203. 7. There may be additional items unforeseen at this time that will be addressed as the need arises. The contractor/developer is encouraged and welcome to contact this office regarding any concerns. Please contact 424-7323 for an appointment regarding this matter.
