This letter is being sent to you because a project for which a permit was issued by the City of
Wheat Ridge Building Division and plans and/or other documents were required was recently
completed and approved. In accordance with the Building Division's document retention policy,
the associated plans and/or other documents are scheduled for disposal.
We are writing to offer you an opportunity to retrieve those approved plans and/or documents
prior to their disposal by the Building Division. The plans and/or documents are available for
retrieval for a period of 20 working days (4 weeks) from the date of this letter — August 19 — and
must be retrieved in person at the Building Division offices. This letter must be presented at
the time of retrieval of the plans and/or documents. Plans and/or documents available for
retrieval CANNOT be mailed and plans and/or documents will NOT be available for retrieval
after the expiration of the retrieval period.
You may retrieve plans and/or documents between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday
through Friday, at the Building Division offices located at 7500 W. 291h Avenue in Wheat Ridge.

Those Present: Douglas K. Stines, P.E. - Douglas K. Stines/Consultants, Inc., Keesh Pankey — Design Platform,
LLC.
Trip Purpose: Review the installation of two (2) existing egress windows in the west concrete basement
foundation walls to verify that the existing headers are structurally adequate. For the purpose of this report, it is
assumed that the home faces north.
PHOTOS:
1. Photo shows one of the two new egress windows located on the west concrete basement foundation
wall which were installed by the owner prior my arrival on site.
2. Photo shows one of the typical basement foundation windows types which was converted into the
new egress window type as shown in photo number 1 above.
OBSERVATIONS:
1. As reported by Keesh Pankey, the owner had installed the two (2) new egress windows by simply
cutting down the bottom area of the existing window and installing the new egress window in the
taller opening. The width of the original window opening was greater than the width of the new
egress window. This condition allowed the egress widow to be installed without any change in width
of the original window opening or the original window header.
2. It is my opinion based on the fact that no structural changes or increase to the window header span
was made by the owner in the installation of the new taller egress windows, that the two (2) new
egress windows do not require any structural modifications due to their installation.
