Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final approval. General Guidelines 1. Keep the roof surface clean of debris, especially at drain areas to avoid clogging. Good roofing practice suggests that water not be allowed to remain on the roof for more than 48 hours after a rain. Keeping the roof clear of debris will allow for proper water runoff and avoid overloading the roof withstanding water. 2. Keep chemical and petroleum products (acids chemicals solvents, greases, oil$ orany liquids containing petroleum products) off the membrane to avoid degradation. If smelling occurs, contact Mule+ide immediately. 3. Do not exhaust Idtchen wastes (vegetable oils) orotheranimal fatsdirectly onto the roof surface. If incidental contact islilely, contact Mule- hide for recommendations on preventative measures 4. TPO and PVC membranes may be used for restaurant roofs but must have a rooftop maintenance program in-place to ensure that accumulations of animal fatsigrease are regularly removed and the membrane surface isdeaned periodically. Ownerrants Contractor the right to publish the project street address on a 'references" list and to take "before" and after" photos which may be given to prospective customers. 8.Concealed Damage & Dry Rot. Contractor will inform Owner of any dry rot or other sub -roof deterioration which is concealed and is discovered during the course of the work. Contractor is not responsible to repair any such discovered deterioration and any work done by Contractor to remedy such discovered deterioration will only be done as extra work in a written change order. 9.Termites, Pests & Hazardous Substances. Owner understands that Con- tractor is not qualified or licensed as an inspector or abatement contractor for Hazardous Materials (as defined by the government), or for Pests (in- cluding Termites). Should any such hazardous substances or Pest be sus- pected to be present on the premises, it is the Owners' responsibility to arrange and pay for inspection and abatement. Contractor cannot certify or warrant your building as being free of hazardous substances or pests. 10. Collection & Legal Fees. Owner agrees to pay all collection fees and charges that result should Owner default in payment of this contract. Overdue accounts are subject to interest charged at 18% per annum or at the highest rate allowed by law. Arbitration of Disputes. A judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction there- of.
