From the field observation, the existing roof structure was observed as Composition Shingle roofing over roof plywood supported by 2x6 Rafter @ 24" OC. The roof is sloped at approximately 23 degrees and has a max rafter span of 12' 0" between supports. Design Criteria: • 2012 International Building Code • Basic Wind Speed Vult = 135 mph (Vasd = 105 mph), Exposure B • Ground Snow Load = 30 psf After review of the field observation report, the existing roof framing supporting the proposed solar panel layout has been determined to not meet loading requirements based on our structural capacity calculations in accordance with applicable building codes. Therefore, structural upgrades are required. These upgrades shall include new sistering to existing roof members at array number 1 and 2 where there are no intermediate vertical supports.
