inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) requires an approved inspection

This application is exclusively for new permits for residential roofs and for licensed
contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come �J
to City Hall to submit an application in person. Permits are processed and issued in
the order they are received and due to the volume of requests, time to process
varies and is subject to change. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN YOUR
PERMIT IS READY FOR PICK-UP AND WILL BE GIVEN A SPECIFIC DATE
AND TIME WINDOW TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. You will be notified if
your contractor's license or insurance has expired, and you may update those
documents at the time you are issued your permit.
For all other requests:
Homeowners wishing to obtain a roofing permit must apply for the permit in person
at City Hall. Revisions to existing permits (for example, to add redecking) must be
completed in person at City Hall. All other non -roofing permits must be completed in
person at City Hall. The Building Division will be open from 7:30-10:30 a.m.,
Monday through Friday to process these types of requests.

This letter is in reference to floodplain status of property ]ocated at 9840 :West 41s` Avenue in the City
of Wheat Ridge.
Based on physical improvements that occuned to the Lena Gulch drainage channel in the ]ate 1980's,
the 100-year floodplain was modified to exclude most of the properties on the south side W. 41S`
Avenue, including the one you are listing. Please see attached copy of the city zoning map where the
100-year floodplain is designated with a dot pattern.
In June of 2003, the City of Wheat Ridge, in conjunction with FEMA (Federal Emergency
Management Agency), adopted new FIRM (Flood Insurance Rate Map) maps. The adopted maps do
not reflect the completed improvements to L.ena Gulch; therefore, the proper[ies in this vicinity aze
shown as being inundated with 100-year floodplain (Zone AE).
The City of Wheat Ridge is in the process of filing for amendment to the existing FIRM map to correct
it and exclude these properties from the 100-year floodplain (Zone AE). Until that happens, it is up to
the prospective buyer's mortgage company as to whether flood insurance will be required.
