Plans submitted to the Fire District are subject to triple the fees if work is performed prior to receiving a work permit through the Fire District. The following requirements are made under the 2003 International Fire Code adopted by the Fire Board of the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District and the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. DEMOLITION• 1. Any use of trash dumpsters shall be greater than 20 feet to any structure. 2. All exit paths shall remain clear of construction materials. 3. Upon removal of the ceiling tiles all wiring shall be attached to structure. There shall be no wiring hanging below drop ceiling height. 4. Fire Lanes sha11 remain clear at all times of construction. This includes but not limited to the aliey behind this structure. 5. An emergency phone shall be on site during all construction. (Cell phone will substitute for land line.) 6. Emergency contact numbers will be posted on the front door during construction. 7. Required keys will be given to the Fire District for access to the tenant space. Said keys will be placed in the Knox Box located at the site. 8. A Fire Extinguisher with a minimum rating of 2A-40BC shall be within 10 feet of all "HOT WORK" operations. 9. The electrical box and the gas meter servicing this tenant shall be clearly marked with the unit number. lO.Any and all construction shall be submitted to the city and the Fire District for permitting. 11.A11 electrical shall be shut down to all devices that are to be moved at the electrical panel. • Inspections shall be required for all phases of construction. • Plans shall be submitted for permitting of the addition to the existing fire alarm. • The aisles in the storage area from the entry doors shall be the width of the doors. • Storage shall be kept to a height of 6 feet or 24 inches from the top of the addition wall. (Fire separation from the ceiling.) • All eacit doors shall have a required sign stating "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN iTNI,OCKED VVHILE TBE BUILDING IS OCCUPIED." • Fire Extinguishers with a minimum rating of 2A-40BC shall be mounted in the assembly area of both businesses and within the storage area. (Mounting height sha11 be 3 to 5 feet from the floor surface.) • A Fire Evacuation plan shall be established with the owner and the tenants of the building. • There shall be emergency lighting installed at all paths of egress including the storage area. The plans submitted to the Fire District do not show the entue scope of the wark to be done at the site. There may be other requirements made by the Fire District upon inspections.
